1 Sign up as a new player This step by step guide can be used by a player that is not already in the system. 1.1 Accessing the registration form Players can use the Register here button, available on any page of http://wsf.tournamentsoftware.com, or use this direct link to the signup form: http://wsf.tournamentsoftware.com/member/createorganizationaccount.aspx Figure 1: register here button. 1.2 Step 1: Rules & Regulations Read through the rules & regulations carefully. You must tick I agree before you can continue to the next step. Figure 2: Rules & Regulations. 3
1.3 Step 2: Personal information Supply your personal information like name, birth date, address and contact details. Note that several fields in the personal Information section are required. Figure 3: Personal Information. 4
1.4 Step 3: Membership In order for the system to recognize you as a player for a specific nation, and to allow you to enter tournaments, you will need to set up your membership. Some information is already filled out for you but you will need to choose from one of the available nations in the WSF system. This is a 2-part process where you will first need to select a continent, and then choose from one of the nations on that continent. Figure 4: Membership - Choose continent. Figure 5: Membership - Choose nation. 5
1.5 Step 4: Account The account will allow you to enter tournaments, and manage your profile and membership through the WSF website. If you supplied an email address in the contact details section of Step 2 that email address is copied over to the E-mail address field of this step. Figure 6: Account. When clicking Submit in this step, your details from step 2-4 are saved to the WSF database and a SPIN number is created. An account verification email is sent out and you are taken to the payment step of the sign-up. See Appendix A for an example of the account verification email and the account activation process. If you cancel the signup before clicking Submit, no information is saved on the WSF website and you will have to start the signup again if you wish to become a registered player. 6
1.6 Step 5: Payment options If you cancel out of the payment step, you can return to it later with the account you have created in the previous step. You can pay with your PayPal account or use a credit card with the PayPal payment system. Click on the PayPal / Credit card option, this will take you to the PayPal website where you can start payment. Figure 7: Payment options. 7
1.7 PayPal payments PayPal allows you to pay with a PayPal account (if you have one) or use your credit card to pay the SPIN fee. If you do not have a PayPal account or prefer to pay with a credit card, select the Don t have a PayPal account? option on the PayPal page. Figure 8: PayPal payment page. 8
2 Sign up as an existing player This process is similar to signing up as a new player, but after filling in your personal details in step 2 the system has matched those details to a player it already knows. When this happens, one of two different dialogs can be presented; 1. When the system finds a player that does not yet have an account. You can select that player and continue signing up for an account as the player found by the system. Figure 9: Continue signup for an account as an existing player with no account. 9
2. When the system finds a player that also already has an account. In this case you cannot continue with the signup, but the system will offer options to recover a forgotten password. Figure 10: Signup as an existing player with an account, recovery options are shown. 10
3 Signing up after receiving a request from WSF A WSF admin or MNA may send out a signup request for any existing player profiles that do not yet have an account. This request will look similar to figure 11. Figure 11: Signup request sent out to a WSF player. By clicking the link provided in the email, it will take you to the signup that will have you personal details already filled out for you. You can complete the signup by filling out information for a new account and that account will be linked to the profile. 11
4 MNA adding a new player This process is different from players signing themselves up and does not require a MNA or WSF admin to use the public signup forms. You start the process from within the administrative section of the website, on the page of a particular country. Figure 12: Adding a new person for Great Brittain. The information fields are similar to those asked during regular player signup, and includes warnings when trying to sign up a player that already exists (by matching their personal details in the system). The New Person process in the administrative section consists of 4 steps when used from a country. The first 3 steps ask for personal details, address details and contact details for the new person. The 4 th step requires you to set up a membership for the new person and in most cases you will not have to adjust any of the information for the membership suggested by the system. Figure 13: Suggested membership information when adding a new player to a country. Once this process is completed you are taken to the new person s record. As this new person does not have an account you can either have the system generate an account, or send out a request for the person to set up an account for the record you have just created. 12
Figure 14: choosing between having the system generate an account, or ask the person to set up their own account. There is always a full description available for both options in the system, choosing either option will ask for an email address to set up the account. It is possible that the email address is already filled in if an email address was supplied when creating the new record. 13
Appendix A: How to activate your account. After submitting your account details in Step 4 of the signup, the system will send out an account activation email. Clicking the link provided in the email will activate the account, which can then be used to log in to the website. A second email is sent out after activation that notifies you about the SPIN number generated by the system, your login name (but not your password), and a small overview of the information that you submitted in the various steps of the signup. 14
If you activate your account before paying for your membership, the email will show that the membership payment was not yet started. You can return to the payment from your account after logging in. If you activate your account after payment has already been completed, the email will show that the membership payment is either pending or completed/successful. 15
Appendix B: How to pay for membership after cancelling out of the payment step of the signup. You will first need to activate your account (see Appendix A). You can log in to the WSF website with your account, there will be a payment message in your account http://wsf.tournamentsoftware.com/member/ Click the Pay button in the message. Alternatively, you can navigate to http://wsf.tournamentsoftware.com/member/profile.aspx?p=4 for detailed information about your membership(s) and a payment link. Click the Pay button behind your membership details. 16
Appendix C: Account activation help If you cannot receive your account activation email, or have trouble activating your account, there is a help page on the WSF website. You are taken to this help page when you try to log in with your account when it is not yet activated. You can use a different email address, which will send out another activation email with a new code. All previous activation codes will become invalid. You can have the system send out another activation email to the current email address. All previous activation codes will become invalid. If you have received an activation email but the link does not work, you can copy the activation code from the email and manually activate the account. 17
