JOB SPECIFICATION SEO Senior Business Systems Analyst London - 37,420-46,810 UKEF can offer a higher starting pay up to the salary maximum 46,810 subject to skills and experience. About The Role The Information Technology Division (ITD) is responsible for the provision of IT services to all UKEF users. The Division has three principal areas of responsibility: 1. the provision of IT infrastructure and services for the business; 2. the definition, development and testing of bespoke software for the Department; and 3. responsibility for the overall IT architecture and alignment to government standards. This post holder is responsible for the analysis and specification of business solutions. Role Requirements The elicitation, analysis and documentation of business requirements. Formulate the strategy, approach and techniques in order to elicit business requirements. Model business requirements, data requirements and business processes using techniques like data flow diagrams, data models, use case diagrams, process maps, activity diagrams, etc. Conduct gap and impact analysis on business and IT processes. Work with system designers and developers to formulate options for IT solutions that will deliver business requirements. Take a lead role in the process to select an appropriate option, taking into consideration business and IT opinions. Production and maintenance of appropriate documentation through the project and development lifecycle. Support of the IT development and test teams across the development lifecycle to ensure that the solution is fully aligned with business requirements. Ongoing support and liaison with business requirement stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring any new requirements or changes to requirements are dealt with according to change control processes. Support User Acceptance Testing. Produce estimates for all business and systems analysis work. This list is not exhaustive; you may be required to carry out additional duties according to business need. 5

Knowledge, skills and experience mandatory to the role are: Technical IT background with a broad appreciation of a wide range of technologies and their application. Understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft client and server software Expert level understanding of the Microsoft Windows and the Office suite Formally trained in business and systems analysis and employing more than one methodology. High standard of communication in writing and with diagrams. An industry standard analysis and design method (e.g. SSADM, UML) An industry standard project development method (e.g. Agile/Scrum, DSDM) Detailed understanding of relationship between UKEF core systems (essential once in post) Significant experience of working in an IT analysis role, covering a range of applications and technologies & which demonstrates effective review, development & implementation of innovative business processes. A background in, or significant experience of, working in a waterfall or agile development environment. Experience of carrying out gap analyses & feasibility studies. Use of modelling and analysis tools, methods & standards. Desirable knowledge, skills and experience Wide-ranging appreciation of available commercial software Understanding of one or more software development methodologies.
