4. Curse Cntent 4.1 Curse Outline and Cntent Descriptin This curse prepares students t becme health seekers and health leaders in their wn cntext. UCU graduates shuld seek that which is healthy and gd fr them, and encurage the same fr their family, cmmunity, and sciety. Gals fr the curse include: Students will be encuraged tward better health seeking behaviur. Students will knw strategies t maintain and prmte health and seek help with health prblems. Health is nt autmatic, ne must wrk t attain and then keep it. Students will acquire knwledge, skills and abilities that are intended t prmte a lnger, healthier and mre cmplete and hly life. Health and whleness is a key t success in what they pursue. Students will acquire basic health tls, skills, knwledge t carry fr their entire lives. Students shuld recgnize that health and whleness is a prduct f individual, family and cmmunity factrs, including knwledge, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviurs. We live and make decisins in families, and live and wrk in cmmunities. Hw we live affects thers; hw thers live affects us. Students will understand hw the Christian cncept f the whle persn is integral t cmplete health. Christian values influence health; ethics and mral decisins have direct and lng lasting effects n health. The Bible is full f useful guidelines fr imprving health. 6. Faith in Teaching Faith is integrated in three ways. First, the cre definitin f the title Whleness is A state f persnal physical, emtinal, scial, and spiritual health, in which a persn knws their value in the eyes f Gd, their families and their cmmunities, and where they are empwered t make gd health decisins. This definitin is wven thrughut the curse, e.g. even fitness includes spiritual fitness (spiritual strength, flexibility, and endurance). Secnd, each week there is a Bible passage entitled The Whle Truth selected fr each week s tpic. This passage is in student wrkbks and is read and discussed during class.
