GSM or GPRS? The first thing to decide when considering the purchase of a wireless battery powered security system is the communication system that best suits your application. There are two choices, GSM & GPRS. GSM Based Systems GSM based systems are the most basic. Customers are required to supply their own mobile phone SIM card, which can either be Pay as you go or monthly/yearly contract (although contract SIMs are the most reliable as they never run out of credit). GSM System when activated, system alerts up to 10 mobile phones GSM based systems are designed for users who only require activation alerts and status messages to be sent to between 1-10 mobile phones. These are ideal when system owners are based on or close to the site being protected and are happy that a simple text message is sufficient to alert them to an activation. The GSM systems are programmed via a PC using a programming cable. Software is supplied on a CD or by downloading from our website. Suitable for multiple systems on multiple sites GPRS Based Systems GPRS systems are more complex and flexible than GSM systems which enables them to be monitored via an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). These systems are supplied with a dedicated GPRS SIM card. GPRS systems are suitable for clients using multiple systems on multiple sites and/or those needing high levels of flexibility to cope with large numbers of people who require access to sites at different times. Programming and Monitoring of GPRS Systems GPRS based systems provide a two stage monitoring feature: 1st Stage Each user is provided with secure access to our online portal (see image below). Each system can be viewed, programmed and armed/disarmed via the online portal, in real time, from anywhere in the world. This is sufficient for users with their own control room, providing it is manned 24/7. GPRS System 2nd Stage For users without their own control room, ARC monitoring is available via one of the UK s largest accredited monitoring stations. GPRS - Visually Verified RaiderVision RaiderVision is Compound Security s new state of the art Visual Verification system and is available in two versions, both of which are fully ARC monitored Version 1 Stand-alone As a completely stand-alone unit integrated with the VX GPRS stand-alone PIR security system Visual Verification Module Specifications CMOS Camera with fixed 110 degree lens. Class leading custom resolution matched to detection pattern of 640 x 200 - max resolution 640 x 480 VGA. Format: MJPEG Sequence length: Variable max 10 seconds. Accessing the visual data Note: Please read GPRS security systems on page 3 if you are unfamiliar with how our monitoring works. As with all of our GPRS based systems, monitoring is provided on two levels. The first level is via our secure online Portal using your secure username and password. The second level is via an accredited Alarm Receiving Centre. The signals and images transmitted from a RaiderVision unit are transmitted as normal to the ARC, where an operator will determine if the activation is valid. In addition to or instead of this (If you choose to monitor the system yourself) you can view the alert and the video / images via any internet connected device such as a PC, Tablet or Smart phone. GPRS - Visually Verified RaiderVision The following images were taken by a RaiderVision unit in various conditions. Each image/video is tagged with those conditions. The image/video capture pattern is 10 degrees wider than the detector detection pattern. Sample Images/Video 1: RaiderVision Night-time clip with modest street lighting. 1: RaiderVision provides colour video when lighting conditions are suitable and black and white images when lighting conditions are poor. This video was taken on a small industrial park with two street lamps within 200 yards. 2: RaiderVision Day-time clip. 2: RaiderVision video clips are a maximum of 10 seconds in length, however, this varies depending on how much movement there is in the frame. Typically the video is received by ARC or users smart device in less than 1 minute. 3: RaiderVision image at night no natural light at 15 metres. 3: This image was taken at 11.30 at night in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Trees almost completely block out the sky, there was no moon to speak of and the nearest lighting was over half a mile away. This image shows a person at 15 meters from the detector. This clearly shows a human intruder on site and this is exactly what is required for police response. GPRS - Monitored Security System RDAS+ The RDAS+ system represents a step change in the standard and functionality of wireless battery powered alarm systems, exceeding the specifications laid down in the 2012 SSAIB Code of Practice for Enhanced Temporary Alarm Systems (ETAS). The RDAS+ system is ideal for property management and guarding companies who need to secure a large number of sites and require the ability to provide access to site to contractors etc. on a regular basis, whilst gathering detailed information relating to such access for management reporting etc. As with all our GPRS systems, the RDAS+ is programmed and controlled in real time via secure access to our online portal (see image below). The enclosure also includes an ibutton reader for those not wishing to use codes. Placing an authorised ibutton to the reader illuminates the bright LCD display and the function can then be selected using the keypad. The keypad is of metal alloy construction with buttons that illuminate when any button is pressed. The illuminated keypad allows the user to enter the code (which can be from 4 to 6 digits in length). A universal code can be programmed that allows the arming of the system only and all codes/ ibuttons can be set to disarm and/or arm the system. Each system will allow up to 64 access codes, ibuttons or a combination of both to be programmed in to it at any one time. Each system also allows the wireless connection of up to 64 devices. Wireless devices that can be connected include keypad/ ibutton readers, PIRs and smoke detectors (see list below). The unit also has a switched output that operates when an authorised ibutton or code is applied. This output can be used for access control e.g. to operate an electronic lock through a suitable interface. Timer view Also on the config page is a separate box that allows the system to be automatically armed/disarmed at specific times for each day of the week. 20 separate times can be entered. Email view Up to 14 different event types including arm, disarm, alarm etc., can be used to automatically send emails to any one of 20 email addresses (regardless of whether a monitoring station is used or not). This is a useful feature that allows both the installer/operator and the end user (if required) to be notified of specific events.
