Date Submitter Name, Address KING/VICTORIA TRANSIT HUB Public Consultation Summary Table June 12, 2013 Comment Summary Date / Response Actions / Commitments The following tabulation is intended to summarize consultation activities with members of the general public. All comments received, responses made and actions / commitments are detailed in this table with a complete Communications Record prepared as Appendix D of the Project File Report. Not Applicable or No Response Was Required 2012-09-25 Notice of Study Commencement first posted in The Record. 2012-09-27 Denne-Randy Petrie Concerned about the closing of Waterloo Street at Victoria Street as it would put more cars onto Duke Street where he lives. Concerned about the traffic for the new Hub and detours. Presently, due to the construction on Weber Street, cars are detouring down Duke Street and speeding. Worried about accidents. Feels the Hub is a waste of money. The GO Trains never run at a time a normal person wants to visit Toronto and are very expensive. On 2012-10-27 Councellor Dan Glenn-Graham responds that the detours are having unintended consequences. He will ask staff to investigate and asks for his patience. Asks Superintendent Darmon if they can consider a traffic control unit at peak periods in the area. To follow up. 2012-10-18 Sam Head President Dryden, Smith & Head Planning Consultants Ltd. 2012-10-26 Sonya Lyon Would like his name placed on the mailing list. Would like to receive additional notices and reports dealing with the transit hub. Understands an OPA may be required to the existing ROPP to facilitate the Hub. Would like to be advised of this application as well. Would like her mailing address updated. Received a Notice of Study Commencement at her old address. Added to the mailing list. Added new address to public mailing list. 2012-10-31 Andrew Groenewegen Zehr Group Would like to be added to the mailing list along with Don Zehr dzehr@zehrgroup.ca). Will the November 4 th open house have any information that we didn t cover at the Adjacent Property Owner s meeting last Friday morning? On 2012-10-31 S. Tiwari responds that they will be added to the mailing list. A correction, the EA PCC is planned for November 20, 2012. He believes there could be some additional material under the EA scope (public facilities) that was not touched on in the Adjacent Property Owner s meeting. Added to the public mailing list. 2012-11-02 Unknown Resident of 85 Louisa Street called S. Tiwari to say she has no concerns unless the construction physically affects her property. She likes the idea of the Hub because it would likely raise property values in the area. 1

Date Submitter Name, Address KING/VICTORIA TRANSIT HUB Public Consultation Summary Table June 12, 2013 Comment Summary Date / Response Actions / Commitments 2012-11-14 Pete Conrad Is this a drop in session on the transportation update anytime between 4 and 7 or is there a speaker? If there is a speaker what time is that? On 2012-11-14 S. Tiwari replies the one scheduled for 4:00-7:00pm, Tue, Nov 20 is a drop-in session. This event is the Environmental Assessment (EA) Public Consultation Centre (PCC) for the transportation infrastructure of the King & Victoria Multimodal Hub. There will be exhibit boards describing and illustrating the concept options that have been developed so far. Will be seeking comments and input from the public which will be used to refine the concept options. There will not be a speaker for this event although there will be staff manning the exhibit boards who will happily answer questions. 2012-11-16 Rosemary Bergmann Called S. Tiwari to say she will be attending the PCC. 2012-11-20 Mike Boos May not be able to make the public meeting today. Are there presentation materials/copies of the study available so he can send comments via e-mail? 2012-11-21 Duncan Clemens Tri-Cities Transport Action Group With respect to the operation of GRT buses on a short section of the LRT corridor between Moore and Francis to allow buses to stop in front of the intermodal hub. Due to current restrictions for buses in the rapidway and agreements with GO/VIA concerning the height of the rail corridor, Mr. Clemens understands that such operation will not be feasible at the time of construction. What he would propose is that the LRT right-of-way be made wide enough to not preclude this kind of operation in the future. On 2012-11-20 S. Tiwari responds the material including presentations and publication as well as background studies will be posted on the project website. It may take another couple of days for the material to date to be available on the website. Included a modified image of one of the functional design drawings to help illustrate how bus operation on the rapidway could function [included as an attached with the email]. He would like to have this image included as part of the public record of 2

Date Submitter Name, Address KING/VICTORIA TRANSIT HUB Public Consultation Summary Table June 12, 2013 Comment Summary Date / Response Actions / Commitments 2012-12-04 Nick Wood 2013-03-18 Nick Wood 2013-06-01 Erin McLaren comments for the intermodal hub. Has recently been on the King/Victoria Transit Hub EA website and has the following questions. 1. When is the Region expecting to present the preferred design solutions to Regional Council with a recommendation to issue a Notice of Study Completion? 2. Upon completion and approval of the EA will the OPA and ZBA be immediately presented to Council? 1. What is the status on preferred design? Has a Notice of Study Completion been issued? 2. Has a date been set to present the concept to Regional Council? 3. Has a date been set to present the OPA/ZBA applications to the City Council? I am interested in having this email address added to the mailing list for information and environmental assessments concerning the King/Victoria Transit Hub. On 2012-12-04 S. Tiwari responds he will provide a more definitive answer after the internal meeting in the second week of December. On 2012-12-17 S. Tiwari responds with respect to Mr. Wood s questions: 1. The Region is still working to optimize the preferred concept. Hopes to be able to table the project file to the Regional Council seeking permission to issue a Notice of Study Completion in the February-March 2013 timeline. Will keep Mr. Wood posted if the Region happens to do it sooner. 2. The OPA and ZBA applications are being made to the City of Kitchener who have the jurisdiction over land use at the site. The applications and supporting studies have been already submitted to the City. As S. Tiwari understands, the City will likely hold a formal public hearing meeting sometime during January-February 2013. The City of Kitchener Council is expected to make a decision on the applications following the public meeting. On 2013-03-18 S. Tiwari responds the answers to Mr Wood s enquiry: (1) and (2) The preferred design is still being developed. We are yet to go to the Regional Council to seek permission to issue the Notice of Study Completion. The concept will be presented to the Council on the same date in the form of the project file. We anticipate this to be accomplished only in May or later this year. (3) The OPA/ZBA applications were presented to the City Council on Feb 25. S. Tiwari to follow up. Added to the mailing list. 3
