Quick Reference Guide Using Remote Desktop With Your ipad and PC This user guide is for users connecting their ipad to a PC computer or laptop. This user guide covers how to set up your ipad to connect to your campus desktop computer or laptop using the Junos Pulse app and the itap RDP app. BEFORE YOU START... 1 Set Up Your PC Desktop Computer/Laptop... 1 Set Up Remote Desktop on Your ipad... 3 BEFORE YOU START Download the Junos Pulse app from the itunes App Store. (This is a free app.) Download the itap RDP (for PC users). This app was gifted to you when you went to ipad orientation. If you do not have the app or the email with the app code, contact the Help Desk at x7777 or helpdesk@fullerton.edu. Set Up Your PC Desktop Computer/Laptop Before you set up your ipad, you will need to enable your desktop computer or laptop to allow remote connections. Step 1: Right-click on My Computer. Step 2: Select Properties. Step 3: Ensure that there is a check mark next to Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. Write down or note the Full computer name. You will need this information later in the setup. Then click OK. Last Revised: 05/05/11 Page 2 of 15
Set Up Remote Desktop on Your ipad Step 1: Tap Junos Pulse ( ). Last Revised: 05/05/11 Page 3 of 15

Step 4: Type in the VPN settings: Name: CSUF VPN URL: https://csufvpns.fullerton.edu Then tap Save. Step 5: Tap Connect. Last Revised: 05/05/11 Page 5 of 15
Step 6: Type in your CSUF username and password. The Realm should be set to Faculty/Staff. Tap Sign In. It may take a few minutes for the VPN to connect. Last Revised: 05/05/11 Page 6 of 15
Step 7: Once your VPN is connected, you will see a notification at the bottom of the Junos Pulse page. You will also see a VPN icon ( ) in your status bar at the top left corner of your ipad screen. Step 8a: If you see this welcome message, tap Done. Step 9: Tap Add Manual Bookmark. Last Revised: 05/05/11 Page 9 of 15
Step 10: Tap Label. Step 11: Type in a name for your connection. It is recommended that you enter something such as My CSUF PC to differentiate it from any other computers you may want to connect to. Tap Save. Step 12: Tap Host. Step 13: Type in the full computer name of your campus PC. This is the name you located on page 2 of this guide. Tap Save. Last Revised: 05/05/11 Page 10 of 15
