HOPE scholarships at public colleges and technical institutes may be applied to tuition and HOPE approved mandatory fees and books. To qualify for the HOPE Scholarship at public colleges and universities a student must meet the following qualifications: Earn at least a B average (3.0 G.P.A. meeting the college preparatory criteria and 3.2 G.P.A. in technology/career preparatory criteria on a 4.0 scale). Only the grades earned in core-curriculum high school subjects will be counted in figuring the GPA for HOPE eligibility. Students may receive a HOPE Scholarship for their freshman year and the HOPE Scholarship may be renewed for their sophomore, junior and senior years if they maintain a 3.0 grade point average at the end of each year. Students with a 3.7 GPA and 1200 SAT/ 26 ACT score, or named the Valedictorian or Salutatorian will be Zell Miller Scholars and receive full tuition. Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA to keep the scholarship. Students with a 3.0 GPA or higher will receive tuition based upon a factor rate, which is currently 90% of this year s tuition rate. VIII
