2 The Governor's Honors Program is a summer educational program in the state of Georgia. It is a six-week instructional program designed to provide the intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students of Georgia, challenging and enriching educational opportunities, not usually available during the regular school year. Activities are designed to provide each participant with opportunities to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to become independent, lifelong learners. Kelyn Liberty was the first CCS student to be selected for the program in the summer This year, CCS student Kelsey Campbell has been selected in the area of Communicative Arts to be a part of GHP. Awesome job, congratulations!
3 On Saturday, May 10, Community Christian held their Annual Kindergarten Graduation, which include the K5 classes of Mrs. Kelli Bryan, Mrs. Rochelle Bova, Ms. Heather West, and Miss Leigh Turner. The graduation was held in the Auditorium. After walking across the stage, all of the kindergarteners became first graders with the flip of a tassel.
4 The Seniors participated in the annual Baccalaureate Service on May 10, After Headmaster Fred Banke opened in prayer, the CCS chorale sang for the seniors and the crowd. Jason Windsor took on the lead role as the speaker for this year s service. As each student walked on to the stage, they received their specific honors and awards for academics, athletics, and other extracurricular activities. Some of the many awards given to certain students were Microsoft Certification Awards, National Honors Society, Beta Club, and Community Service Awards. The service ended with mixed feelings from the seniors as they were excited about their future, yet emotional that this was the end of their high school journey and the beginning of their college and real world adventure.
