The Key Idea of this invention is come from Indian Tilaka Process. In Hinduism a Tilaka is a colored Mark on forehead with the help of colored Powder. In the Tilaka Process the Colored Powder is copy Form the color container/box and past on the forehead. Sparsh Technology also used this metaphor for transferring data between Digital devices. Sparsh Technology conceptually copy the data in user body and send to the other digital touch based devices. This Technology Provide a novel Interaction method to seamlessly transfer data among multiple users and Devices. In this Technology data is copy by a single touch or Gesture and conceptually copy in the user body and when user touch the another device the copied data paste/pass to that device. Technically, this transfer of media happen via the information cloud. Keywords Cloud, Copy and Paste, Data Sharing, Data Transfer, Gesture recognition, Intuitive Interfaces, SPARSH, Touch-based Interaction. I. INTRODUCTION Today s our digital world laptop, TV, smart phone, e- book reader and all are now relying upon the cloud, but we all use older way of Data Transfer Clippings of data from one device to another. But a new research project Sparsh is aiming to fix that oversight. SPARSH (is a Hindi Word for Touch ) is not an application. It s basically a system s/w or tool that supposed to be a part of a different digital devices operating system, like select all and Undo. Sparsh explores a novel interaction method to seamlessly transfer something between these devices by single touch gesture using virtual cloud base clipboard where any data like a phone number, Address, photograph or other information, can temporarily live until its Pasted to another Device over the Network. II. Figure 1: SPARSH OBJECTIVE Sparsh Invention related to Transfer of data from one digital device to another digital device also different operating systems (Ex: Android & Windows) by a single touch. For transfer/moving digital media between Digital Devices such as Computer, Notebook, Smartphone s, Tablets and other devices USB drives, external hard disks, CD/DVD, Bluetooth, Email, and Dropbox are some of the common Ways to move Files or media from one device to the other Sparsh is basically a attempts to make the transfer of Digital media more tangible and interactive. The objective of this invention is transfer the data from one digital device to another by touch alone. In Sparsh actual Transfer of Data occurs using the Internet, Intranet network or any other type of data Servers that s the device are connected to and the differentiate one user to another done by the authentication methods such as username/password, drawing a pattern on the touch screen, face recognition or fingerprint detection can be used. 265
The Transferring of data from one digital device to second digital device using sparsh. The first and second digital devices may be touch enabled smart phones, tablet computers or other digital devices are connected to a network including a data storage cloud and both have SPARSH mode enabled. Figure 3: SPARSH enabling Signal Fig-2: Data Transfer through SPARSH B. Copy Data When Sparsh is enable in the digital device and user login successfully a touch listener run in the background for listening any touch event in the digital device. For Identifying a copy event in Sparsh uses a long press on copy able data item (keeping finger on a data item more than 1.5 sec.) indicates to copy that data item. Whenever user to Touch any copy able data a touch listener program start counting the time and when time exceeds the threshold (1.5 sec.) a message appears indicating that the data item is being copied and gets copied to the user s unique space in the data cloud. The copy Data to the data cloud also done by alternative ways (instead of long-press for 1.5 seconds). For example, double tap on data item or draw a circle around the data item to initiate copy. Using this process user copy multiple file for passing/paste to the other device all the copy data save in the cloud on temporary bases with unique id of each data item. III. WORKING Working of Sparsh consist of three steps i.e. Enabling Sparsh, Copying Data & paste/pass Data to other Digital Devices as follows. A. Enabling SPARSH The SPARSH runs as a background service on a digital device and user has the option to enable this service through the system s main settings. When user enable the Sparsh mode, an icon appears on the status bar of the screen showing the status (if a user has signed in).if not user can touch this icon to login or change users using different authentication methods like: Enter user name and password, Drawing a secret sign or pattern, Face recognition, Picture selection and Fingerprint detection after a user has signed in successfully, SPARSH Ready for transferring (Copy/Paste) the data between digital devices. Figure 4: Copying Data Operation 266
C. Paste/ Pass Data Similar to copy event Sparsh uses the listener program to identify a paste or copy attempt. If the user long-press or double click on any data time copy event is initiated & if the user long-press an empty space (paste able area) on touch screen listener Program initiate the Paste event. When pasting action/event is established Sparsh look for content in the cloud space assigned (folder with a unique ID) to a specific user. A small preview of the available data is shown to the user. User can touch one item on the preview to paste that item or multiple items to paste multiple items after copying data from the cloud data automatically removed from the sever/data cloud by default but user has the option to change this to keep the copy of data in the cloud. [1] Touch screen sensor-this sensor is made from a glass plate that has touch responsive surface. [2] Controller-This is made from a small PC card. This simple device connects the touch screen sensor and the personal computer. [3] Software Driver-This driver is very useful to allow the connection between touch screen and personal computer. This system allows these two separate items to work together. B. Gesture Recognition Interface with computers using gestures of the human body, typically hand movements. In gesture recognition technology, reads the movements of the human body and communicates the data to a computer that uses the gestures as input to control device or applications. For example, a person Make any pattern on touch enable device. Figure 5: Preview of data available for pasting IV. TECHNOLOGIES USED Sparsh uses the following Technologies to transfer the data from one digital device to another. A. Touch-Based Interactions A touch screen is an electronic visual display that the user can control through simple or multi-touch gestures by touching the screen with one or more fingers. Some touch screens can also detect objects such as a stylus or ordinary or specially coated gloves. The user can use the touch screen to react to what is displayed and to control how it is displayed (for example by zooming the text size). This touch screen technology has three main components. Figure 6: Identify user by using unique Gesture sign C. Data Transfer Technology SPARSH Technology sends the data one device to another device by using two types of data transfer Technologies are following:- 267
[1] Wired Communication-SPARSH Technology sends data throw wired. When device is the touch enable device which is connected to Broad band connection. Ex: PC, Display Boards. [2] Wireless Communication-SPARSH also sends data throw wireless. When device is the touch enable device which is connected to Wireless Internet connection. EX: Mobile, PDA. Backbone of Sparsh is data cloud by which the data transfer from one digital device to another Digital Device. Below Fig: 7 demonstrate the actual data transfer through Cloud in Sparsh. Sparsh technology provides the better, fast, and secure data transfer from one digital device to another and after 3-5 year the touch enable devices are increase to Trillions in future this technology implemented in all type of smart device for proving new data transfer techniques and reduce the dependency of physical devices. VII. CONCLUSION SPARSH explores a novel interaction method to seamlessly transfer data between digital devices. It this user conceptually copy the data in their body from one device and then paste that data to the other device using natural single touch Interaction. In future the SPARSH technology widely used for transferring the data using a single touch gesture between different digital device also with different platforms (Windows and Android). Figure 7: Actual Data transfer through Cloud V. MERITS OF SPARSH Sparsh invention reduces the physical device dependency, physical transformation time and cost. With the help of this invention fast sharing of documents, videos, address, phone numbers and much more over large geographical area easily. Sparsh provide a highly secure data transformation medium by using advance encryption technique use in cloud computing. It also reduces the data loss and corruption at the time of data transmission. By using this technology Users are also able to access the data on their data cloud without SPARSH Mode. VI. FUTURE APPLICATIONS The upcoming Generation of computer and smart phones are free from the physical limit dependency of storing media (HDD, Thumb Drives etc.) and upcoming generation uses the cloud for storing & transforming their data between digital devices and the Sparsh is the one of the technology that uses the cloud in different way for transferring the data form one device to another in intuitive way by using a single touch gesture.
