Overview The GroupWise to PST migrator is for those who want to migrate from one message system to another and wish to keep their old mail available to the user, while not actually adding any old messages to the new system. Migrating existing mail to a PST file is the best way to accomplish a move to a fresh new system without adding any old mail to the new system. The GroupWise to PST Migrator connects to an existing mail system and creates a.pst archive for messages and data in the system. The only items the PST Migrator will not export are items located in the trash folder. GroupWise to PST Migrator License To run the migrator, locate the shortcut or menu entry and run the program. On startup, the migrator checks for a license. Configuration Before the migrator can create a PST archive, it must be configured to connect to the mail system. From the main menu, select Settings to access the configuration window. The Settings window holds three different tabs: GroupWise, Archive Location, and PST. GroupWise To configure the GroupWise settings for the migration, fill out all fields on the GroupWise page. The Post Office IP address must be the connection IP address of the Post Office desired for the migration task. The Post Office message Port and SOAP Port must be specified. The admin username must be provided. The Trusted Application name and key are to be input here. These may be accessed or created through ConsoleOne. Once the configuration has been completed, save the configuration to a file first, to ensure quick reconfiguration when the migration is run later. Once saved to a file, select the Save button to use the new configuration and close the settings window. Archive Location This location is where an existing archive file is located. This configuration is used if the archive migration is to be utilized. Either input the root path to the desired location or use the browse button to select the location. The User ID and appended Sub-Directories can also be tied to the archive if desired. As with other configuration windows in the migration tool, the configuration should be saved to a file to ensure quick reconfiguration. Once saved to a file, select the Save button to lock in the configuration and close the Settings window. 8
PST The PST configuration contains simple settings for the PST archive files. The PST Export path is the final location of the PST file. The maximum size limit of the PST file(s) may be configured from 1 GB to 50 GB in size. If any single PST file exceeds the maximum size limit, it will be divided into multiple files. Click Save to save the configuration to the system and return to the main window. Multi-User Live and Archive Migration The GroupWise to PST migrations, both live and archive are essentially the same in the interface and in use of the PST. The difference is where the data comes from. The Live system connects directly to the GroupWise system and archives all message data found. The Archive Migration connects to an existing GroupWise archive and pulls the message data from there. Once the desired users have been selected, the migration pulls all message data from users mailboxes and adds it into the PST file. Select the Multi-User Migration of choice to open the migration window. Once the window has been opened, the GroupWise system must be contacted and the user list loaded. Select the Load Users button to propagate the list. Once the user list has been propagated, the users must be selected before they can be 9
migrated. Users may be selected individually, or en-masse, through the right-click menu or the buttons on top. Once the desired users have been selected, click the START button and the Migration will begin. The interface will display a status for each user. The tool will only migrate one user at a time. When users are completed, a status message is displayed, along with any error. Once complete, the finished files will be located in the destination folder. The migration tool is ready to either migrate another group of users or area, or to be closed. 10
