Guide 130025 VIGIL X-View (360 Dewarping Plugin) Guide Guide #: 130025-3 Date: Sept. 1 st, 2015 Product Affected: VIGIL Server,VIGIL 360 Dewarping Plugin Purpose: This document is intended to instruct a user on the basic usage and configuration of the VIGIL 360 Dewarping module. 1 INTRODUCTION... 1 2 CONFIGURING A CAMERA FOR USE WITH VIGIL 360 DE-WARPING SOFTWARE... 2 3 USING VIGIL 360 DE-WARPING SOFTWARE... 3 4 CONTACT INFORMATION... 5 1 Introduction 3xLOGIC s VIGIL X-View software (VIGIL 360 De-Warping Mod) provides 360-degree field-of-view coverage from a ceiling or wall-mounted 360 camera. Now you can achieve real-time viewing of an entire scene from a single camera. Users can simultaneously view a 360-degree image as well as three (3) distortion-corrected images on individual sub-frames, each with their own digital PTZ support. Wall mounted cameras using the De-warping module can also use the Panorama view feature which de-warps the 360 image into a full-panoramic view of the cameras fields of vision. User may digitally pan across and zoom in and out of the image for added review capability. This guide has been constructed to aid in the configuration and use of the VIGIL 360 De-Warping software on a VIGIL Server system. Note: Users must have purchased and registered a 360 De-warping Module license for each 360 camera they wish to de-warp. Please purchase and register your license through the 3xLOGIC WebReg system before continuing. 1

2 Configuring a Camera for use with VIGIL X-View Please note that the de-warping software module is automatically installed along with VIGIL Server and becomes available once a license has been registered. To configure the 3xLOGIC 360 De-Warping Software for use with one of your VIGIL Server s cameras, open your VIGIL Server software s interface. From the VIGIL Server main screen, click the Settings (1) button in the icon menu toolbar. Select the Camera Setup tab (2). From the cameras list, select the camera that is to be used with the de-warping software (3). With your desired camera selected, click the Camera Control tab(4) located at the bottom of the Camera Setup page. In the Type drop-down menu(5), select the 360 Dewarping option (ceiling or wall mount) that is best suited for your camera s application. Click OK or Apply to save the newly configured settings. 2

3 Using VIGIL X-View Plugin Software Now that your desired camera has been configured for use with the de-warping module, locate the camera feed in your VIGIL Server Live Viewer. Right-click on the camera feed, scroll over the 360 Dewarping option (which is only visible after configuring the Camera for use with the dewarping module). You will be presented with three separate modes: Source video with Rotation Disabled, Source video with Rotation Enabled and 360 View and Source View. A fourth mode, Panorama View, is only available for 360 wallmounted cameras. Mode Source Video Only(Rotate Disabled) Source Video Only(Rotate Enabled) 360 View and Source View Panorama View (Wall-Mount Mode Only) Description Default mode. Original camera field-of view. Original camera field-of-view that can be rotated to change vantage points using digital PTZ. Dewarping 360 and Source View Mode. This mode features the original 360-degree image as well as 3 sub-frames each presenting a different portion of the 360-degree view Dewarping Panoramic mode. This mode features the 360 wall-mounted cameras view de-warped into a single panoramic style image. A user may pan across the image or digitally zoom in and out for added review capability. 3.1 Using the 360 View and Source Video View (Ceiling and Wall Mounted) Using Digital PTZ, each of three sub-frames may be rotated to achieve the desired field-of-vision. Simply click inside one of the sub-frames and drag the cursor within the sub-frame to rotate the field-of-vision(as pictured below in the lower right hand quadrant). Alternatively, click on the desired sub-frame and then click within the source view(top-left quadrant) frame to instantly change the selected sub-frame s field-of-vision to the section you clicked within the source view. 3.2 Using Panorama View (Wall Mounted Only) In Panorama View mode, use the traditional methods for digital PTZ to navigate the image. Digital pan and zoom controls can both be utilized to review the image in detail. 4
