1 Vid-Center 6.0 Quick Reference Card All users should read the user manuals for complete details on installation, usage and functionality. Starting Vid-Center Viewing Live Video 1. Start Vid-Center: From Windows XP: From the Start menu, click All Programs > Verint Video Solutions > Vid- Center > Vid-Center From Windows Vista or Windows 7: From the Start menu, click All Programs > Verint Video Solutions > Vid-Center > Vid-Center From the Desktop: Double-click Vid-Center. Connecting to a DVR 2. Connect to the DVR. To connect from the Dashboard the Task Actions pane From the Recent Connections area, click a DVR. 1. Select the DVR. 2. From the Task Actions toolbar, click Conect. 3. In the Enter Password box, type the DVR password, then click OK. 4. From the Video toolbar, select the tile arrangement. Choose one of the following: Auto Arrange Cameras: Displays video from all cameras and maximizes the area used to display the video, but force all video to be the same size. Double-click a video tile to make it larger than the rest. 1 Camera Arrangement: Displays video from a 1 camera. 2 2 Camera Arrangement: Displays video from 4 cameras. 3 3 Camera Arrangement: Displays video from 9 cameras. 4 4 Camera Arrangement: Displays video from 16 cameras. 3 2 Camera Arrangement: Displays video from 6 cameras. 5 3 Camera Arrangement: Displays video from 15 cameras. 5. Select the cameras to view. 1 To view video from a DVR with 16 cameras or less more than 16 cameras Drag the DVR to the Video tab OR Expand the DVR and drag a camera to a tile. 1. Drag the DVR to the Video tab. 2. From the Select Camera dialog, select the cameras to view. 3. Click Add Selected. 4. Click Choose Selected. 6. From the Video toolbar, click View Live.

2 Viewing Recorded Video 3. From the Task Center pane, click Recorded Video. a. Set the starting date and time. 4. From the Task Actions toolbar, click Choose View. 5. Select the cameras to view. b. (Optional) Select End Time, and enter the end date and time. c. Click OK. 10. To browse to the starting minute, from the Task Actions pane, expand the video tree and doubleclick on a minute to begin retrieving video for that time. To view video from a DVR with 16 cameras or less a DVR with more than 16 cameras Perform the following steps Select a DVR. 1. Select a DVR. 2. From the Available Cameras list, choose up to 16 cameras then click the right-arrow button. 3. Click OK. 6. Click Duration to set the length of video to view. NOTE: If no duration is set, video retrieval will continue indefinitely until you make another request for video, a request for DVR properties, or click Stop Download in the Video tab. 7. (Optional) Click the Motion playback icon to play back motion only video. 8. Select the time period to view. 9. To specify the starting date and time, From the Task Actions toolbar, click the Request Video icon. Viewing Recorded Event Video 3. From the Task Center pane, click Events. 2

3 4. From the Task Action pane, set the starting date and time. Saving a Video Clip as an Executable File 4. From the menu, click File > Wrap Video As. 5. (Optional) Select Use end date/time, and set the end date and time. Selecting this option will download event video that occurs between the two dates. If you do not set an end date and time, event video from the start date to the present will be downloaded. 6. (Optional) Select Download preview images to also download thumbnail images of the event. 7. Click Start Downloading Events. 8. From the Events tab, expand the event to view the associated thumbnail images or double-click the event to view the associated video. 9. Expand the Event Data pane to view transaction data receipts associated with the video. Printing a Still Image 4. Right-click on the playing video, then click Print this Frame. 5. Click Browse to set the location, name and image type, then click Save. 6. Select the printer to use, then click OK. Saving a Still Image 1. Vid-Center. 4. Right-click a video, then select Export this Frame. 5. Click Browse to set the location, name and image type, then click Save. 6. (Optional) Select Include event data in exported image to add event data to the image. 7. Click OK. 5. Click Browse and set the location and name for the file, then click Save. 6. (Optional) In the Enter the password to use to protect the file box, type a password to protect the video clip. 7. Select the player type for the video. You can wrap the video into an.exe file that contains video and the LWXViewer player using one of the following options: Lite player: This option does not save audio and results in a smaller file. Full player: This option saves all video and audio information and results in a larger file. 8. Click Wrap Video. Saving a Video Clip as an AVI 4. From the menu, click File > Advanced > Export Clip to Avi File. 3

4 5. Under the Time Period area, set the start and end time of the video clip. 6. From the Video Encoding list, choose the video encoding format. 7. (Optional) From the Audio Encoding list, choose the audio encoding format. NOTE: The available video and audio formats will vary depending on the codecs installed on the computer. On Windows Vista and Windows 7, the mp3 audio codec is not available due to licensing restrictions. 8. From the Include Checked Cameras list, choose the cameras to include. 9. (Optional) Under the Camera Audio Channels area, select Include Audio Channel 1 and/or Include Audio Channel 2 for each camera. 10. (Optional) Click Advanced Options to enable or disable Frame Duplication or to set the Video Key Frame Interval. Click OK once you have made the desired changes to the Advanced Options. NOTE: The advanced options improve compatibility with Adobe After Effects. 11. Click Export Video. 12. Click Browse and select the target folder. 13. In the File Name Pattern box, type the prefix for the AVI file. 14. Click Begin Export. 15. Click Done. Saving a Video Clip as an LWX file 4. From the menu, click File > Save Video As. 5. Choose the location and name for the file, then click Save. Exporting Video to an External Storage Device 3. From the menu, click File > Advanced > Record Video to DVR Storage Device. 4. From the DVR list, select the DVR. 5. Under Storage Device, select either CD/DVD drive or USB Device. 6. Under Video Duaration, select the start and end date and time of the video. 7. Select Wrap video for stand-alone viewing to wrap the video in an executable player. 8. From the Camera Selection list, select the cameras to record. 9. Click OK. Recording an Audio Message NOTE: You do not need a connection to a DVR to record and save messages. 2. From the menu, click View > Audio Recording or from the Video tab toolbar, click Audio Recorder. 3. Click the pin to lock the Audio pane in place. 4. Select Record New Message. 5. Click Recording Preference. 6. From the Recording Device list, choose the audio input device on the computer. 4

5 Controlling a PTZ Camera 7. From the Recording Quality list, choose one of the following quality: Normal/Voice-Optimized Enhanced High 8. Click OK. 9. Click Start Recording. 10. Record a message using a microphone connected to the computer. 11. Click Stop Recording. 12. Click Play to preview the recording. 13. Click Save to save the recording. Playing Audio Messages on Remote DVR 4. Expand the DVR and drag the PTZ camera ( )to the Video tab. 5. From the Video toolbar, click View Live. 6. From the Video tab, click Camera Properties. 7. Click PTZ Controls to view the PTZ controls. 8. Click on a PTZ camera tile to enable PTZ controls. 4. From the Video toolbar, click Audio Recorder. 5. Click the pin to lock the Audio pane in place. 6. Select the DVRs. To send the message to one DVR 1. From the Task Center pane, click Live Video. 2. Expand the DVR and drag a camera to a tile in the Video tab. multiple DVRs Ensure that the Video tab is not playing live video from any DVRs. one specific DVR from a Virtual DVR 1. From the Task Center pane, click Live Video. 2. Expand the DVR and drag a camera to a tile in the Video tab. 7. Select Send New Message and choose a saved message from the list. 8. Click Send to DVR to transfer the selected audio message to the DVR(s). Once the file transfer is complete, the DVR will play back the audio message. 9. Use the following to control the PTZ camera: Click the different quadrants to pan the camera left and right, or tilt the camera up and down, in the desired direction. 5 Click to zoom in on an area of interest. Click to zoom out and return to a wider view.

6 Click to focus in. Click to focus out. Click (Open Iris) to allow more light to come in and make video brighter. Playing a PTZ Preset or Pattern Click (Close Iris) to allow less light to come in and make video darker. 10. Save a preset. a. Move the PTZ camera to a position you want to save as a preset. b. Click Save ( ). c. From the Save PTZ Preset dialog, type a descriptive name for the preset. d. From the Preset list, choose a Preset from 1 to 31. e. Click Save. 11. Save a pattern. a. Click Start/Stop ( ). b. From the Pattern Position dialog, select a pattern from 1 to Expand the DVR and drag the PTZ camera ( )to the Video tab. 5. From the Video toolbar, click View Live. 6. From the Video tab, click Camera Properties. 7. Click PTZ Controls to view the PTZ controls. 8. Click on a PTZ camera tile to enable PTZ controls. 9. Play a preset or pattern. To Play a preset a pattern From the Preset list, choose a preset position. From the Pattern list, choose a pattern to play. c. Click Record. d. Create a custom camera pattern using the PTZ controls and buttons. e. Click Start/Stop ( ) to save the pattern. 12. Press Menu ( ) to access the On-Screen Display (OSD) of the PTZ Camera. Use the arrows keys to navigate the OSD. Use the Menu Item Select button ( ) to confirm the selection.
