2nd Day Amares / Caniçada / Pitões das Júnias / Amares L Breakfast at the Hotel. Today you will visit National Park of Gerês. A walk around this magnificent Park. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon visit to Pitões das Júnias. Return to your Hotel in Terras do Bouro. Gerês - protected zone in northern Portugal, a unique natural beauty. Geres is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful regions of the country. Pitões das Júnias Junia is a village situated about 1200 meters of altitude in the north of Portugal, within the Peneda-Geres National Park, in the region of Tras-os-Montes. Its origin is confused with the Monastery of St. Mary of Junia, between the ninth and eleventh centuries. The location in the far north of Portugal, the harsh climate in winter and the consequent immigration contributed to the village retaining its small population and the typical medieval aspect. 3rd Day Amares / Amarante / Régua / Mesão Frio / Vila Real L Breakfast at the Hotel. The day today will be dedicated to the Douro Region. Will be included a visit to Amarante and Régua. In a village called Tabuaço lunch will be served at a local traditional wine Farm. After lunch we will continue the trip to Vila Real. Arriving to Vila Real check in at your Hotel: Estalagem Quinta do Paço Douro world heritage by UNESCO. Today we head to Vila Nova de Foz Côa for a visit to the Paleolithic drawings. Lunch at Quinta da Ervamoira AND A VISIT TO THE Museum. Return to your Hotel in Vila Real. Discover the mysteries of Paleolithic art in an art gallery outdoors, where our ancestors tell you what they saw. The banks of a river Douro affluent, the Coa, are home to 25,000 years of pre historic art. It s a World Heritage Site by UNESCO 5th Day Vila Real / Pinhão / Régua / Vila Real L-D Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to a traditional wine farm, where you will have a show around and a wine tasting, as well as your Lunch. In the afternoon transfer to a region called Tua and take an old steam train to Régua where you will have dinner at a typical restaurant. After dinner transfer back to your Hotel in Vila Real. Pinhão part of the Douro Region, is where many of the wine farms producers the Port wine are located.
6th Day Vila Real / Pinhão / Cruzeiro até Barca de Alva / Bragança L Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to Pinhão, Today you will navigate the Douro river, from Pinhão to Barca d Alva Lunch will be on bord. In the afternoon we continue our trip by bus to Bragança. Arriving to Bragança check in at your Hotel: Pousada de S. Bartolomeu. An opportunity to meet Douro in a different way, navigating its river, surpassing its locks. Bragança Its origin dates from the twelfth century, when the Braganções established here, family members of the 1st King of Portugal (Afonso Henriques). The medieval urban core remains in the citadel represented by the imposing tower of the Castle, the Pelourinho is based on a curious Lusitanian berrão (proto-historic statues of stone), the Church of Santa Maria and the Domus Municipalis, being this last one the only surviving example of civil architecture. 7th Day Bragança / Porto L Breakfast at the Hotel. A visit to the medieval Citadel. A panoramic tour to Natural Park of Montesinho. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we ll start our return to Porto. Arrival to Porto End of trip!
