TEXTECH Med : project Develop technical textile in the Mediterranean joining the efforts of research, business and investment actors «Market oriented» vision and value chain representation of technical textile sector «Intelligent» mapping of EuroMed actors, business opportunities and multiactor relation making: Business to Business : technical and commercial partnerships Research to Business : cooperation projects (R&D innovation) among research and resource centres, SMEs & Start up Investors to Business : relationship among industrials and financial players (Joint venture, financing of production infrastructures) TEXTECHMed is a pilot project for fine analysis of cooperation potential & opportunities 3

3.2.TEXTECH Med network & experts community TEXTECH Med network & virtual agency Collaborative Web spaces & animation of communities, professional Forum R&D Investors Business Intermediaries Switch from a rough to a clear vision of markets, technology trend, business opportunities: qualify segments of value chain and final markets Understand relations between actors of the value chain : contribute to the mapping of local actors and detect cooperation opportunities => RtoB, BtoB, BtoI (Brokerage event in June 2010, Tunis) Contribute to benchmarking and partnership making with «hot spots» of textile, technical textile and transversal support sectors contributing to the competition and mutation Boost and animate the EuroMed platform for technical textile in the Mediterranean and cooperate on the defined projects Prepare the launch of the first Professional Social network dedicated to technical textile in the Euro- Mediterranean 6

TEXTECH Med: today & tomorrow 16, 17, 18 June 2010: BtoB, RtoB, BtoI associated to TEXMED salon in Tunis Market assessment study - technical textile in the Mediterranean (focus on market opportunities) Pre-Feasibility study of regional user-friendly service center: ŁPrototyping services ŁCertification assistance ŁTraining (initial & professional) ŁInternationalization and export support services for companies ŁBusiness development & partnership support services (for companies willing to diversify in technical applications) 8

5. TEXTECH Med: up coming project ideas About 15 project ideas identified: R&D and development projects for international and local usage (textile for hometech, medical, agriculture, sportech, transport, etc ) Euro-Mediterranean Technical Textile network development : to enable north south & specially south-south cooperation => business, R&D, training, support services Training: development of common modules and curricula for initial training integrating local business cases (ESITH, ENIT, University of Cairo, ENSAIT, etc. ) Awareness raising: sessions for traditional textile companies willing to develop technical applications of textile focus on market opportunities, process and local business cases (AMITH, MFC Pole, CCI Aleppo, Cairo Textile Technology Center, Cairo university, etc. ) Development of knowledge intensive support services for Med companies going to tech applications: internationalization, business & diversification support, partnership making 9
