1 Main characteristics: With over 20 million SMEs in the EU representing 99% of businesses, they are key for economic growth, innovation, employment and social integration. The European Commission is clearly focused in its aims to promote successful entrepreneurship and the South East Europe Programme is supporting this in the region by addressing deficits with improved supporting structures and processes for SMEs. Projects on the programme include topics around SME financing; IPR; clusters/business parks; social enterprises; technology platforms; ICT support. With a wide range of complementary SME support measures necessary for a developed innovative SME sector there exists capitalization and synergy possibilities between projects but also other initiatives and programmes that project provider organizations are involved with. 8 FIDIBE (closed project) Developing and improving support networks and services for innovative SMEs in the area business park development Mr Zoltan Haasz - haasz.zoltan@kprf.hu AUTOCLUSTERS (closed project) Autoclusters network, the general objectives of the network are: - promoting South East Europe as macro-region with very well developed capacities for innovation activities in automotive industry; - support development of human resources capacities for RTD in automotive industry; - support development of innovation capacities inside members and their stakeholders;- propose knowledge base relevant to the innovation in automotive industry for their members Martina Homolova -homolova@autoklaster.sk TexEASTile (closed project) The mission of the project Tex-EASTile is to create a new synergy between the public and private sector in order to disseminate knowledge, to promote the application of eco-design tools and to spread product sustainability principles in manufacturing productions and consumptions, encouraging PAs to purchase them. Tex-EASTile foresees the involvement of SMEs of the textile sector in 6 different countries of the South East European region. The aim is to foster the exchange of good practices and innovative tools targeted to quality and environmental certification of production and products.
