Using MoneyLine - Getting Started Upon instaing MoneyLine, you have the option to set up your own account detais or use the defaut accounts incuded with MoneyLine. If you seect the option to set up you accounts, you wi be guided through the process of setting up a Checking, Savings, and Credit Card account, and given the option to add additiona accounts, using the Add/Edit Account diaog, which aows you to input your starting baance, account nicknames, and other basic information. If you choose to bypass the account setup, three basic accounts wi be created for you: Checking, Savings, and Credit Card. The detais for these accounts may be edited at any time by seecting the View Accounts option in the Accounts menu. See Aso: Main Window Reference Add/Edit Account 7

Using MoneyLine - Main Window Reference The main window ayout of MoneyLine consists of the menu and toobars aong the top, the exporer bar on the eft, and the transaction ist occupying the remaining space. Menus The menu bar provides ready-access to a of the features contained within MoneyLine. The Fie menu contains some common actions, as we as options for importing data from other programs for financia institutions into MoneyLine. The Accounts menu contains options for managing accounts, such as adding accounts, adding transactions and reconciing your accounts. The Manage menu contains options for viewing and adding categories, payees, schedued transactions and budgets. The Reports menu aows you to view reports based on your spending and budgeting. The Toos menu is where you can seect program Options and the backup and restore feature. Toobars The toobar provides one-cick access to the most common tasks such as adding, editing, deeting and remotey retrieving transaction, budgeting, and program options. Exporer Bar The Exporer Bar provides account summaries and asset/iabiity standings at a gance, as we as quick access to reports, and actions such as transaction search and transaction retrieva. Note that the account summaries shown refect a transactions entered, regardess of date. Transaction List The transaction ist provides a summary of transactions which meet the criteria specified in the fiters above the ist. The avaiabe fiters are account type and date range, with pre-defined time periods for daiy, weeky, monthy and yeary resuts. The first coumn in the transaction ist denotes if a transaction has been ceared. Check this when a transaction is known to have ceared through the financia institution. The second coumn abeed "R" shows that this transaction has been reconcied with the financia institution by using the Reconcie Account feature in the Accounts menu. The other coumns of the transaction ist provide information about each transaction, gathered at the time the transaction is entered into MoneyLine. You can doube-cick on any transaction in the ist to edit its detais. To quicky edit the category, cick the category to make a drop-menu appear, from which you can seect a new category for the transaction. 8

Using MoneyLine - Adding and Managing Transactions Adding Transactions There are two basic ways you can add your daiy financia transactions to MoneyLine: manuay, or by downoad. Manuay This option for adding transactions means that you wi enter each transaction for each account using the Add Transaction diaog, accessed by cicking the Transaction button on the toobar. Use this option if you do not want MoneyLine to downoad your transactions automaticay, if you do not have an internet connection, or if you prefer to manage each transaction entry yoursef. Downoad This option means that you have enabed onine account access for one or more of your accounts and entered a the bank detais needed for onine access. Onine access can be managed from the Add/Edit Account diaog. Use this option if it is more convenient for you to automaticay import transactions. To retrieve transactions, cick the Retrieve button on the toobar. Note that you may sti make changes to each transaction once it has been oaded into MoneyLine. See aso: Tips for Retrieving Transactions from Your Financia Institution Importing Transactions from Another Program or from Your Bank You can aso import transactions from some programs and from your bank if you can export an OFX, QFX or CSV fie of your transactions from your other program or financia institution. To import, see either the Import Transactions from OFX or QFX or Import Transactions from CSV hep topics in this manua. Viewing Transactions Once a transaction has been added to MoneyLine, it wi appear in the main window in the transactions ist. If you cannot see the transaction you have just entered, make sure you have the correct account and time period seected from the fiter options above the transaction ist. Editing Transactions 9

You can edit a transaction after it has been added to the transactions ist. If you ony need to change the Category, doube-cick the existing category to open a drop-menu and seect a new category assignment. To change any other detai, either doube-cick the transaction in the ist, or seect it and cick the Edit button in the toobar. The Edit Transaction window wi open. Change any detais you need and cick OK to save them. Additiona Transaction Options Right-cicking on a transaction in the transactions ist opens a context menu with more options. From the context menu, you can void a transaction, schedue a transaction, spit a transaction, and search for a transaction. 10

Using MoneyLine - Tips for Retrieving Transactions from Your Financia Institution Severa things can cause data to not be retrieved from your financia institution. If you find that there are no transactions to retrieve you may not have any data for the date range that you have input and you wi need to change the date for your ast import. Beow are a few items that you shoud check in your Account information. Last Import Date Make sure that there are ceared transactions posted to your account after the ast import date to MoneyLine. It can take severa days for transactions to cear, particuary over weekends and hoidays. Account Information Try reentering the information for your account, incuding routing number, account number, user ID and password. Some institutions require a different user ID for onine banking and for retrieving transactions. Check with your financia institution. Contact Your Financia Institution You may need to inform your institution that you are panning to downoad transactions from them. Banks wi often post such requirements on the onine account access section of their websites. 11

Using MoneyLine - Reconcie with Statement When you receive a statement from your financia institution, you can reconcie the transactions that you have entered into MoneyLine with that statement by seecting Reconcie Account from the Accounts menu. Enter the date and the cosing baance from the statement you received and cick OK. The reconcie window wi show the date of your ast reconcie and the baance as the opening baance and date. Beow that is the baance of the transactions from this statement that have been reconcied, foowed by the cosing baance entered from your financia institution's statement, and any difference between the vaues of your opening baance and your cosing baance. The bottom of the window wi show a of your unreconcied entries for the current statement period. If you need to reconcie transactions from other periods with this statement cick the checkbox at the top-right to show a unreconcied transactions. Check off transactions that have ceared from your statement in the R coumn in order to reconcie your account. If you find that you have made a mistake entering transactions, you can edit the amounts directy from the ist by cicking the vaue and editing it. Once you have finished reconciing your statement cick OK. If there is a difference between your baance and the baance provided by the bank, you wi be given the opportunity to add an adjusting entry. Seecting Yes wi add a baance-adjusting entry in order to make your account reconcied, marking a of those transactions reconcied and ceared. Seecting Finish Later wi keep any changes that you made to the transactions but wi not mark any of the transactions reconcied. Unreconciing a Transaction If you need to unreconcie a transaction at a ater date, you can right-cick on the transaction from transaction ist and seect Unreconcie Transaction. 12

Using MoneyLine - Budgeting Create a New Budget To set up your first budget, cick the Budget button on the toobar, then cick the Add button to open the New Budget Wizard. See the foowing topics in this manua to guide you through the New Budget Wizard: New Budget Wizard ~ New Budget New Budget Wizard ~ Seect Accounts New Budget Wizard ~ Income Budget New Budget Wizard ~ Expense Budget Tip: on the Expense Budget tab of the New Budget Wizard, check the Dispay a warning for each transaction that exceeds the budget checkbox at the bottom of the window to receive a notification as soon as you go over budget in any category. This wi hep you make adjustments to your budget quicky so you can stay within your spending imits. Monitoring your Budget From the Budget window, cick the Report button. Seect the budget, time period, and cick OK. You' see a ist of your spending by category, the budget you set for that category, your spending in that category, and the variance between your budget and spending as a doar amount and as a percentage. Using MoneyLine - Reports MoneyLine's reports can be accessed by cicking the Reports menu and seecting the desired report. There are four reports you can use to anayze your spending: Income/Expenses by Category - ists a summary of a transactions within the specified time period, grouped and sorted by category. Doube-cick any category to view a the transactions made in that category during the specified time period. Expenses by Payee - ists a summary of a expense transactions within the specified time period, grouped and sorted by Payee. Doube-cick any payee to view a the transactions made to that payee during the specified time period. Account Activity - ists a the transactions for an account within the specified time period. Aso dispays whether the transactions have been reconcied or not, denoted in the R coumn of the report. Budget - ists your spending by category and compares it to your budgeted amounts, isting variance by doar amounts and percentages, for a specified time period. See aso: Report View 14

Screen References - Accounts The Accounts diaog aows you to add, edit or deete accounts. To open the Accounts diaog, seect View Accounts from the Accounts menu. Add Cick the Add button to open the Add/Edit Account diaog, which aows you to create a new account. Deete Cick the Deete button to deete the seected accounts. Edit Cick the Edit button to open the Add/Edit Account diaog and edit the seected account. Find Account From the Accounts menu of this diaog, seect Find Account to enter the name of the account you are ooking for. Press the F3 key to advance through the resuts to the next match. 15

Screen References - Categories This diaog aows you to add, edit or deete categories. To open the Categories diaog, seect Categories from the Manage menu. Add Cick the Add button to open the Add/Edit Category diaog, which aows you to create a new category for the Categories ist. Deete Cick the Deete button to deete the seected categories. Edit Cick the Edit button to open the Add/Edit Category diaog and edit the seected category detais. Screen References - Payees This diaog aows you to add, edit or deete payees. To open the Payees diaog, seect Payees from the Manage menu. Add Cick the Add button to open the Add/Edit Payee diaog, which aows you to create a new payee for the Payees ist. Deete Cick the Deete button to deete the seected payee(s). Edit Cick the Edit button to open the Add/Edit Payee diaog and edit the seected payee detais. Find Payee From the Payees menu of this diaog, seect Find Payee to enter the name of the payee you are ooking for. Press the F3 key to advance through the resuts to the next match. 17

Screen References - Securities This diaog aows you to add, edit or deete securities. To open the Securities diaog, seect Securities from the Manage menu. Add Cick the Add button to open the Add/Edit Security diaog, which aows you to create a new security. Deete Cick the Deete button to deete the seected securities. Edit Cick the Edit button to open the Add/Edit Security diaog and edit the seected security detais. Find Security From the Securities menu of this diaog, seect Find Security to enter the name of the security you are ooking for. Press the F3 key to advance through the resuts to the next match. 18

Screen References - Report View Use this window to preview, print or save a report. It opens any time you view a report in MoneyLine. To earn more about the specific information contained in each report, see the Reports topic in this manua. Preview You can preview a report printout or pdf by cicking the Preview button. Print Ctr+P You can print a report by cicking the Print button. Save Ctr+S You can save a report as a PDF or CSV fie by cicking the Save button seecting Save as PDF or Save as CSV, and then choosing the ocation on your computer to save the report to. Emai Ctr+E You can emai a report as a PDF fie by cicking the Emai button. Note that you may need to set up your emai settings on the Other tab of Options. Fax You can send a report by Fax as a PDF fie by cicking the Fax button. Note that you may need to set up your fax settings on the Other tab of Options. 19

Screen References - Import Transactions from OFX or QFX Import Transactions This diaog aows new transactions to be imported from either an OFX or QFX data fie. To access this diaog, either seect Import from OFX or QFX from the Fie menu, or cick the Retrieve button on the toobar to retrieve this fie directy from your bank. New transactions for import This is a ist of new transactions to be imported. Each transaction may be individuay excuded from the import by unchecking the transaction in the far eft coumn. Baance after import The projected account baance after importing the seected transactions is dispayed under the ower right of the import ist. Existing unceared transactions This is a ist of transactions currenty on record with MoneyLine. If a transaction in this ist has the same date and amount as a transaction in the import ist, the transaction wi be automaticay unchecked for excusion from the import to avoid dupicate transaction entries. 20

Screen References - Spit Transactions Spit transactions are used to itemize arger transactions into smaer amounts with mutipe categories. You can open the Spit Transactions window from the Add Transaction window by cicking the Spit Transaction button, or after a transaction has been added to MoneyLine by right-cicking the transaction and seecting Spit Transaction from the context menu. Add Cick the Add button to add a new spit for the current transaction to the ist. Deete Cick the Deete button to deete the seected spit for the current transaction. Once you have the number of spits needed in the transaction ist, you can edit the categories by cicking the assigned category and seecting a new category from the drop menu. Add any notes by doube-cicking in the notes coumn and entering text. Change the Payment or Deposit amount by doube-cicking in the coumn and editing the amount. Note that the Spit Transactions window cannot be cosed unti the totas add up to the tota of the origina transaction. 21

Screen References - Schedued Transactions Schedued transactions are used for recurring activities ike paychecks or mortgage payments. You can create new schedued transactions by cicking on the Manage Schedued Transactions ink on the eft side of the screen or seecting View Schedued Transactions from the Manage menu. Schedued transactions can aso be created from existing transactions that were manuay entered by right-cicking on the transactions and seecting Make a Schedued Transaction from the context menu. Screen References - Back Up and Restore Data It is a good practice to back up your Invoice data often in the event that your PC fais, in order to reduce the oss of data. Invoice gives you severa options for backing up your data, and makes it easy to restore your data when you need it. To back up data, cick the Toos menu and seect Back Up Data. Seect a method for backup depending on how you woud ike to access the data ater on. Aso see the NCH Backup Options page for more information about each backup option. Backup Options Back up to a Network Foder This is a good option if you are working in an office. Ask your Network Administrator to create a safe foder on the shared server. Seect this foder and cick Backup. The entire appication foder wi be copied to that foder. If something goes wrong (ike a hard drive crash) you just copy back the foder and everything wi be restored. Onine Access MoneyLine can be used to retrieve transaction and baance data from your financia institution if they support OFX connections. Contact your bank and ask if they aow connections to their OFX server, or if you are ony aowed to downoad OFX fies through their website. If downoading through their site is your ony option, you can import transactions from the Fie menu by seecting Import from OFX/QFX Fie. If you are abe to connect to their OFX server, you wi need to gather the information required in the Onine Access section of this window to connect. Financia Institution: 33
