LIVING

A history of shaping the PLACES where families, seniors, and children will live, play, and grow. As a storied firm, Holabird & Root is proud of the many ways we have transformed living environments. Beginning in 1938 with the first federal government housing project in Chicago - the historic Jane Addams Homes - Holabird & Root has created places that people are proud to call home. We preserve the dignity of buildings and the people that live in them, and transform neighborhoods into vibrant, stable communities.

engage Rehabilitating housing or planning for a large-scale community must begin with listening. In understanding the needs of residents and community members, Holabird & Root has been able to respond with innovative solutions. Whether it has been fundraising to ensure seniors have comfortable outdoor space or working with single parents to create safe play areas that allow for supervision, we understand how important it is to partner with residents to design their living environments. services EXPERTISE architecture interior design STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING mep/fp engineering INVESTIGATIve STUDIES ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS CHILDREN S ENVIRONMENTS UNIVERSAL DESIGN URBAN PLANNING historic PRESERVATION SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
