3 BUILT SEE EYEWEAR I NEW YORK, NEW YORK VOA provided design and architectural services that highlighted the SEE brand into the SOHO landmark district in New York City. A renovation of the facade and total gut of the interior was completed with a new format of layout application. SIZE 3,000 SF Working with SEE was such a great experience. The brand concept is unique to the market and it truly shows in the store. The overall design focus was to create a sophisticated, warm and open environment to showcase their eclectic and distinctive products. We opened up the interior layout and storefront allowing for a clear view into the store highlighted by the back wall signature sunglass display. 5 BUILT TOP SHOP TOP MAN I MULTIPLE LOCATIONS VOA was Executive Architect for a six story flagship store in Soho s Cast Iron District, a four story store in Chicago s Magnificent Mile Shopping District, and a main floor store in the Fashion Show mall, near the Las Vegas Strip. These projects include new mezzanines, an escalator, and stairwells. Store designs integrate international products, sound system with DJ booth, a VIP lounge/ Press room, and personal shopper suites to enhance customer services. SIZE 136,000 SF / 50,000 SF Typical Store For their expansion into the U.S., Top Shop chose to emphasize each site s exterior and interior architecture to express their brand. Grand-scale entrances and high ceiling spaces positioned with bold displays formed their overall signature. Each location offered challenges and opportunities for us to achieve an overall vocabulary with distinctive results in each. 9 BUILT COLE HAAN I NEW YORK, NY VOA designed wholesale showrooms, executive offices, and footwear and accessories design offices, which included multiple phases of work on an occupied floor. The wholesale showrooms were designed to allow the designers to interact with the product in a mock-retail setting. VOA executed new branding themes for materials, display panels, colors and lighting to be rolled out to new store locations throughout the world. SIZE 40,000 SF The challenge was to create a experiential backdrop for Cole Haan s design department to enable them to mock up store components including shelving systems, hardware, cabinetry, color, materials and lighting. Items are easily moved and swapped out to renew the brand and to keep pace with sales trends for all store types including flagship, store in store, mall slots and outlet shops. LEONARD M. 11 BUILT POSMAN BOOKS I NEW YORK, NEW YORK VOA provided a new branded concept store for this well-known independent book store. The space focuses on books for children and young adults and accommodates lectures with a connection to The Chelsea Market Arcade through a folding store front and movable displays. Voted New York s Best Book Store in 2012 by New York Magazine. SIZE 3,000 SF Within the rough backdrop of NY s Chelsea Market, we created a simple three-dimensional brand for POSMAN that utilized their logo and familiar green and white palette only previously used on stationary and shopping bags. 13 BUILT DKNY DONNA KARAN I MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, USA DKNY Donna Karan New York is a label of fashion designer Donna Karan. Donna Karan founded DKNY in 1989 in New York to run alongside her existing Donna Karan New York label. VOA provided executive architectural services for new store concept. Renovation of New York and Pennsylvania stores and three new locations in Cabazon, Las Vegas, and Honolulu, including new special fixtures and an image projection system. SIZE 27,000 SF DKNY rolled out a new brand image starting with 3 new stores. These projects display the power of well thought store design to reinvent an existing brand. It was also refreshing to introduce new technology into the store design to make the space more current and appeal to a savvier consumer. 15 ON THE BOARDS SALVATORE FERRAGAMO I CHICAGO, IL This project includes demolition and renovation of the ground floor and expansion of 3,289 SF space on 2nd floor of this North Michigan Avenue retail space. Total renovation is approximately 8,653 SF. The new construction includes a two story exterior façade, an ornamental stair connecting the second floor and ground floor, as well as an elevator for ADA accessibility. SIZE 8,653 SF Ferragamo has chosen to introduce a newly branded exterior façade creating a new identity at their Magnificent Mile location. It has been a rewarding experience to work closely with Ferragamo to learn their retail culture and to transform the site into a new Chicago flagship. 19 ON THE BOARDS SAN CHONG RETAIL COMPLEX I TAIPEI, TAIWAN Masterplan for San Chong Ting Lu includes construction and site concept, landscape concept, architectural & schematic design for retail component, and underground parking. The interior design for residential amenities includes banquet suite, gym, yoga room, spa & sauna, lounge bar, swimming pool, recreation room, elevator, lobby, washrooms and break rooms for the shopping mall. SIZE 1,600,000 SF / 42,000 m2 As part of a New Taipei City revitalization, VOA was challenged to create a new type of commercial town center that directly linked the Metro Rail to a new retail, community park, six private residential towers and an existing riverside park. The private and public circulation through the retail complex became a key element that drove the open design of the retail complex. An open Main Street path connected the multiple retail floors of the 1 million+ square foot complex to all levels and access points from the exterior. MITCHELL LEVY, ASSOC. 20 MIXED USE MASTERPLAN I BEIJING, CHINA ON THE BOARDS This Masterplan is complete and going through the government approval process. The project is more than 13,000,000 square feet with office space totalling, 6,000,000 square feet, three hotels totaling 1,200,000 square feet, six 45 to 60 story Luxury Residential Towers totaling 5,400,000 square feet and a retail lifestyle center of 1,000,000 square feet. The office and luxury residential buildings will be high rise construction between 280 to 400 meters. The design was inspired by metaphors from Chinese culture, especially the concept of the door or gateway facing south. This element is interpreted throughout thousands of years of Chinese culture.
