Accessing UCONNECT How do I get a username for UCONNECT? As a newly admitted UCO student Your UCONNECT username is generated when you have completed all enrollment paperwork and have been officially admitted to the university. At that time, an E-mail is sent to the non-uco E-mail address you provided when you enrolled that provides your UCO username. A second E-mail follows the first one, and it gives you a onetime-use link that you click on to access the web page that allows you to set your own password. Once you click the link and set your password, then go to http://uconnect.uco.edu and log in with your username and password, you are prompted to choose a security question and provide an answer to that question. Once you have chosen your security question and provided the answer to use, you then will be able to have your password reset electronically and E-mailed to you should you forget your password in the future. As a current student at UCO Generally, your username already exists in the system and consists of your first initial and your last name (i.e., jsmith). However, in order to ensure that your username is unique, it also may include a sequence number (i.e., jsmith211). If you do not remember your username, try first to retrieve it by going to http://uconnect.uco.edu and choosing the What is my username? link in the SECURE ACCESS LOGIN box. Next, search for your UCONNECT username by your UCO ID Number by choosing the know your ID number link, and then, in the page that opens, providing your UCO ID Number, first name, and last name. Then choose SEARCH. Your password is eight characters and randomly generated. If you have not received information about your username and password, or forgotten your username or password, you may retrieve them from the UCONNECT web page by choosing the What is my username? or What do I do if I forget my password? It is strongly recommended that you change your password upon logging in for the first time. How do I log in? 1. Point your web browser to http://uconnect.uco.edu 2. At the login screen, enter your UCONNECT username and your password, and then click the login button. 3. To exit, click the logout icon in the upper right corner of the screen. If you have any problems loggin into UCONNECT, you may visit our UCONNECT Account Access Information page for troubleshooting tips and account resets. If you are still unable to login, contact Technology Support at (405) 974-CALL (2255) or support@uco.edu. Make sure to have your UCO ID number handy for verification when contacting Technology Support. UCONNECT 04/14/11 1.3 2
What should I see when I login? Content in UCONNECT is delivered through both tabs and channels. The UCONNECT Tabs are displayed across the top of the screen, and channels are the individual pieces of content that make up the majority of the pages. The E- mail preview area is an example of a channel. When you successfully login, you should see the home tab of the UCONNECT application. The home tab contains your E-mail channel, Central Alert, as well as the University branding and icons in the top part of the screen. When you access UCONNECT, you will always begin on the home tab. If you would like to logout of UCONNECT, click on the logout icon in the top right of the screen. UCONNECT will also automatically log your account out after forty-five minutes of inactivity for security purposes. UCONNECT 04/14/11 1.3 3
