3 Online Systems at COTR As a COTR student you will be using four separate accounts that provide you with access to the following Online Systems at COTR: College Student Network COTR Library COTR Online COTR Online (Moodle) AccessCOTR The following document will give you information about access to these online systems along with stepby-step directions on how to log into them. Contact information has been provided for additional assistance. You may want to save or print this document for future reference. Logging into Online Systems at COTR User IDs (Usernames): College of the Rockies uses a standard User ID (also known as Username) for the College Student Network, COTR Library and AccessCOTR accounts and we highly recommend that when creating your COTR Online (Moodle) User ID (Username), you use the same one. The User ID (Username) is your seven digit student number with a prefix of c (i.e. c ). Your student number can be found on your student card or on your Registration Statement. You can also find out your User ID (Username) by using AccessCOTR. Refer to AccessCOTR information on page 8. Passwords: Passwords are required to access all Online Systems at COTR. Some of our systems provide a temporary password and you will be required to choose a new one. When picking a new password, choose one that has between 6 to 9 characters and include both letters and numbers. We highly recommend you use the same password for all four Online Systems at COTR to simplify your access. Your User ID (Username) and password provides access to confidential student record information as well as online resources so do not share your User ID and password with anyone. 2 P age

4 College Student Network What is the College Student Network Account? Your College Student Network account allows access to your College Network drives. Once logged into the College Network, use your browser to go to the Student Portal at The Student Portal is where you can access COTR Library, COTR Online (Moodle) and AccessCOTR. Other student online resources on the Portal include announcements, cancelled class information, student elections, job postings, buy and sell opportunities, campus life activities, volleyball teams schedules, etc. College Student Network Account Login Information: New and Returning On-Campus Students Login Directions: All On-Campus students will need to set up their College Student Network Account. If you did this during the last academic year (September - August) you will need to do it again for the current academic year since all student accounts are deleted during the summer and created fresh as students register. 1. Enter your User ID (Username) - 7 digit student number + prefix "c" in front (i.e. c ) 2. Enter your temporary password - 7 digit student number + prefix "c" in front. You will be prompted immediately to change your password. After this initial setup, you will use your User ID (Username) and your newly created password to log into your College Student Network accounts and your College . When selecting a new password, choose one that has between 6 to 9 characters and include both letters and numbers. We highly recommend you use the same password for all four Online Systems at COTR to simplify your access. New and Returning Online Students Login Directions: Online students should contact the Student Help extension 3333 for assistance with changing their passwords. 3 P age

5 College Portal: Once logged into the College Network Account, all students have access to the COTR Portal where many of the resources and information students need are housed. You may consider bookmarking this page or making it your default page. The College Portal is at 4 P age

6 College Student Network Account Assistance: If you have difficulties accessing your College Student Network Account, contact the Student Help Desk to activate your network account and . Phone: or toll free Extension 3333 Provide the following information when you contact the Student Help Desk: First and Last Name (please spell your last name) Student Number (will be shown on your Registration receipt) A new password (You can choose whatever you want. Just make sure it's something that you will remember and that someone else couldn't guess.) Information on how to contact you (i.e. address or phone number) The Student Help Desk will contact you when your account has been activated. COTR Library Account What is the COTR Library Account? Your COTR Library account allows you to borrow books or other resources, request items and renew items you have out online. COTR Library Login Information: First time login to your COTR Library Account: Enter your User ID (Username) - 7 digit student number + prefix "c" in front (i.e. c ) 3. Enter your temporary password - 7 digit student number + prefix "c" in front After you have logged in for the first time, change your password. When selecting a new password, choose one that has between 6 to 9 characters and include both letters and numbers. We highly recommend you use the same password for all four Online Systems at COTR to simplify your access. 5 P age

7 COTR Library Assistance: If you have difficulties accessing your COTR Library Account, contact us at: (for local calls) ext (toll-free for long distance) When sending an or leaving a message, include your name, student number and contact information COTR Online (Moodle) What is the COTR Online (Moodle) Account? Your COTR Online (Moodle) account gives you access to online courses or access supplementary information and resources for your face-to face courses (e.g. course readings, discussions, and assignments). COTR Online (Moodle) Login Information: The following directions will let you create an account for your ONLINE courses. 1. To access your online courses you will need to start at The Login box is located in the top right side of the page: a. If you are a returning online student and as long as you can remember the address you were using for your online courses, the Lost Password option will reset your password and identify your username. 6 P age

8 b. Students who have never used COTR Online will need to create an account: 2. You will need to go to your account to find the confirmation , it usually takes 1 to 5 minutes to arrive and will look like this: Note: if you don t see the confirmation in you Inbox, check your Spam or Junk mail folder; if you can t find it there, contact the Moodle Help Desk. 7 P age

9 3. Once you see the , open it and follow the instructions: 4. Your COTR online account is now active and you are logged in to Moodle: 5. Don t forget to log out when you are finished for the day, particularly if you are working on one of the college computers. 10 AccessCOTR What is AccessCOTR? AccessCOTR is the online record system used by students, faculty and staff at College of the Rockies. There are many useful functions on AccessCOTR, such as: Search for course sections Select Courses for My Preferred List Register for Course sections Drop Course sections Make a Payment Viewing and Printing Tax Forms (T2202A) AccessCOTR Login Information: Go to the following link to log into AccessCOTR: 1. Your AccessCOTR User ID (Username) is your 7 digit student number + prefix "c" in front (i.e. c ). 2. If you do not know your User ID (Username) you can access it by choosing 'What's my User ID' on the AccessCOTR main menu. Refer to the AccessCOTR screenprint below. If you are a new or returning College of the Rockies student, or if you have not received your new temporary AccessCOTR password, you can create a new temporary password. To create a new temporary password: 1. Go to AccessCOTR Click on the 'What's my password' link at the top right of the page. Refer to the AccessCOTR screenprint below. 2. On the next page, click 'Reset my password' 9 P age

11 1. Enter your last name and either your SIN (must be on file) or your 7 digit student number student number and click 'Submit' 2. Choose the address that you would like your temporary password sent to, and click submit. Most students will have only one address available to choose from. After you complete these steps, a new temporary password will be sent to the address that you selected. If your address is no longer valid please contact [email protected] to update your address. 3. The first time you log in with your new temporary password, you will be required to change your password. When selecting a new password, choose one that has between 6 to 9 characters and include both letters and numbers. 12 4. Once logged onto AccessCOTR. Click on the Student Menu located on the right hand side of the page. Refer to the AccessCOTR screenprint below. Once logged in, you can access the student menu options listed below. AccessCOTR Assistance for Students: If you are still having difficulty using AccessCOTR, you can or If you would like to speak directly to someone in the Admissions and Registration Office, please call The Registration office toll free at ext during office hours. 13 COTR-Ellucian GO App The COTR - Ellucian GO App, is a free mobile app that allows you to check your course schedule and grades, find links to COTR information resources and much more, You ll have access to great features that make your campus experience more effective, more efficient and more fun! You can download the Ellucian GO App from your favourite App store (sorry Blackberry is not supported). If you require help downloading or installing the App please contact Registration at [email protected] You cannot reset your password using the COTR Ellucian Go App. To reset your password go to AccessCOTR. 12 P age
