Hardware recommendations for instacount PLUS Dear Customer Thank you for choosing instacount PLUS. This high-quality instrument management software will lead you reliably and professionally through the instrument cycle. In order to achieve high hardware and software availability, we have used our extensive project experience to create this hardware recommendation and only list products that have proven that they work effectively with instacount PLUS in terms of quality, stability and availability. Therefore, please be aware that hardware that is not listed here may cause problems. Other providers may only offer little or no support at all. For this reason we would like to ask you in your personal interest to observe these hardware recommendations. If you are considering acquiring hardware internally, please contact us well in advance for timely consultation. Our goal is trouble-free installation matching our hardware requirements with your wishes and expectations. We would like to use this opportunity to inform you that we do not recommend Wi-Fi installation. Although unproblematic in projects, Wi-Fi networks can be unstable, without the used hardware and software being at fault. In order to avoid these kinds of problems from the outset, we still recommend cable networks. Standard printers suitable for instacount PLUS Label printers which support thermal transfer printing are connected. A resolution of 203 dpi is sufficient. Label printers are best connected to the in-house network via Ethernet interface. Standard printers suitable for instacount PLUS Colour laser printers are particularly recommended as printers for batch documentation. Otherwise monochrome laser printers are recommended that support at least PCL5 and are equipped with a network interface. Barcode scanners with USB interface must support the IBM handheld/ibm SurePos mode. For notebooks without serial ports, use of the adapter ATEN UC 232 A (USB to RS 232 adapter) is recommended. Other adapters must be checked in individual cases. If you are already using a MS SQL server that complies with the hardware recommendations, you can use it for the instacount PLUS database. For storage of report, media and process data files, an available file server/san can be used. Instacount PLUS only needs to be installed on the clients.
PC for instacount.decon For contaminated conditions, it is recommended to use a PC with protection class IP65, e. g. Penta Medical i5/i7. These special computers are protected against dirt and spray water and can be more easily decontaminated. Interfaces - Server (Server for instacount.pdi) Alternatively, a client operating system can also be used. If potentially required interface software of the disinfector/steriliser manufacturer supports virtual systems, virtualization is recommended. Access to the interface server for control purposes for CSSD staff must be ensured. This may be provided by VMware Infrastructure Client or VNC. It must be observed that the interface software and some instacount PDIs require an open user session as an application! Data backup Please ensure suitable backup and archiving of the batch data and data base. Ideal is the implementation of an in-house backup and archiving process. Stand-alone PCs for master data recording can be stored on USB drives. The amount of data to be stored depends on the number of devices whose batch data is to be stored. On average, this amounts to approx. 10-15 GB/year. The size of the data base is 6 to 8 GB on average. License protection License protection is carried out by the Invitec License Server - software-based as Windows service. No dongle is used. Alternatively, remote maintenance can be carried out via remote desktop. Remote maintenance VPN or SSL web access After central login to a remote server or the instacount server, client support is best achieved via VNC, Dameware or pcanywhere. Alternatively, remote maintenance can be carried out via remote desktop. Internet access With instacount version 3.0 or later, it is possible to request manufacturer information for article master data directly in the application over the internet. In order to be able to do this, internet access is necessary. Thin clients Thin clients must be equipped with a serial interface. Before installation, this interface must be checked for compatibility with a barcode scanner. For each session, approx. 60 kbyte of bandwidth are required. System-related hardware Using hardware that is not included in the list of recommended hardware with the system solution instacount PLUS is subject to tests and approval.
