Xerox QR Code App Quick Start Guide 702P03999 For Use with QR Code Scanner / Reader Enabled Applications Use the QR (Quick Response) Code App with the following applications: QR Code Scanner / Reader Applications, Xerox Mobile Print Cloud 3.0, Xerox Mobile Print Solution 3.5, Mobile Print Portal App, Mobile Link, and ConnectKey Technology enabled Multifunction Printers (MFPs) / Devices. Use the QR Code App on ConnectKey Technology enabled MFPs to scan two different QR codes to your mobile device: One QR code pairs / syncs the ConnectKey Technology enabled MFP with your Xerox Mobile App. The other QR code opens a Xerox webpage on your mobile device which allows you to browse for Xerox mobile applications. Tip In order to use the QR Code App, the following requirements must be met: MFPs require a network connection. The device must be loaded with the Software for 2016 ConnectKey Technology enabled MFPs.
Methods for Obtaining the QR Code App There are three methods to obtain the QR Code App: The QR Code App is preloaded (already installed) on the multifunction printer (MFP): - Users do not need to manually download and install it from Xerox App Gallery. - By default, the App is ready to use on the MFP. Download the QR Code App from Xerox App Gallery App: - The Xerox App Gallery App is preloaded (already installed) on the MFP. By default, the Xerox App Gallery App is preinstalled and available on all MFPs which have the software for 2016 ConnectKey Technology enabled MFPs. - Users must have an App Gallery account in order to log into Xerox App Gallery App and download / install the QR Code App. Download the QR Code App from Xerox App Gallery Web Portal: - Go to Xerox App Gallery Web Portal at: https://appgallery.external.xerox.com/xerox_app_gallery/login - Users must have an App Gallery account in order to login to Xerox App Gallery Web Portal and download / install the QR Code App. For instructions on installing Apps via the Xerox App Gallery Web Portal, refer to the Xerox App Gallery User Guide. Installing the QR Code App from Xerox App Gallery App The following procedure provides instructions for installing the QR Code App by using the Xerox App Gallery App on the MFP. For instructions on installing Apps via the Xerox App Gallery Web Portal, refer to the Xerox App Gallery User Guide. Online Help and Documentation provides a link for downloading the guide. If the QR Code App is already installed on the MFP, go to Install Mobile Apps on your Mobile Device. IPv4 is required; refer to your device System Administrator for help and information. 1. From the MFP home screen, select the Xerox App Gallery App icon. 2. Login in to your App Gallery account by entering your User Name and Password. 3. Browse for the QR Code App. 4. Select Install.
If the App was previously installed and a new version is available, the button displays as Update. Detailed information is provided in the Xerox App Gallery User Guide; refer to the Online Help and Documentation links provided at the end of this guide. 5. Select Agree to the Terms and Conditions. 6. Follow any on-screen instructions for completing the installation of the App. 7. Select the Exit button to exit and close the Xerox App Gallery App. Installing Mobile Apps on your Mobile Device Tip If you already have both a QR Code scanner / reader app and a Xerox mobile app installed on your mobile device, go to Scanning the QR Code at the Xerox Multifunction Printer (MFP). If your mobile device already has a QR Code scanner / reader app, you can use it to scan the second QR code from the QR Code App on the MFP. This second QR code displays a web page on your mobile device where you can browse for Xerox mobile apps. 1. Go to your mobile device app store. 2. Browse for the desired apps, as required. Browse for a Xerox mobile app such as Xerox Mobile Print Portal or Xerox Mobile Link. Browse for a QR Code scanner / reader app. You can install one or more apps on your mobile device, including the ones listed in this step. 3. Install the desired apps on your mobile device. Mobile devices Apple ios Version (v7.1 and higher), Android (v4.0 and higher), and Windows 8.1 tablets are supported. Scanning the QR Code at the Xerox Multifunction Printer (MFP) 1. Select the QR Code icon from the home screen of the MFP. The QR Code screen displays two QR codes. 2. From your mobile device, open the desired app, (for example a QR Code scanner / reader app or the Xerox Mobile Print Portal app). 3. Scan one or both of the desired QR codes. Use a Xerox mobile app, such as Xerox Mobile Print Portal, to scan the QR code and send the MFP information to your mobile device.
The following MFP information is sent to your mobile device: - Printer ID - IPv4 (Internet Protocol Version 4) - IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) - MAC Address (Media Access Control Address) - FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) - Display Name IPv4 must be enabled on the MFP for this App to function correctly. If IPv4 is not enabled, your mobile device cannot retrieve the required MFP information. If IPv4 is not enabled, contact your MFP administrator. Use a QR Code scanner / reader app to scan the QR code which displays a web page where you can browse for Xerox mobile apps. 4. Press the Services Home button to return to the MFP home screen. Enabling IPv4 on the Multifunction Printer (MFP) - Administrator Procedure This procedure enables IPv4 on the multifunction printer (MFP). This ensures that Xerox mobile apps can send the necessary MFP information to a mobile device. Important The following procedure is performed only by a person who has MFP Administrator privileges and is logged onto the MFP as Administrator. A MFP may have more than one Administrator. Non-Administrator users must con tact a MFP Administrator in order to have this procedure completed. 1. Open an internet browser on your computer. 2. From an internet browser, enter the IP address of the MFP. The CentreWare Internet Services page for that MFP opens. 3. Login as the Administrator. 4. Select the Properties tab. 5. Select Connectivity. a) Select Setup. b) Under Network and to the right of Wired Connection, select Edit. The Wired Profile page displays. c) Under Configuration Settings and to the right of IP (Internet Protocol), select Edit. The IP (Internet Protocol) page displays. d) For IPv4 select the Show IPv4 Settings button. e) Select the Enabled checkbox under Protocol. 6. Select Apply at the bottom of the page. 7. Select OK to dismiss the pop-up message box. IPv4 is now enabled.
