SYSTEM OVERVIEW: HOW THE ACM FVM FITS Focused Vendor Modules (FVMs) THE BRIDGE BETWEEN YOUR NETWORK AND YOUR IT STAFF CTiQ Focused Vendor Modules (FVMs) are software agents that enable the CTiQ Intelligent Management Platform (IMP) to provide unsurpassed visibility into the health and well being of your applications. FVMs operate like a team of highly skilled engineers that constantly monitor and evaluate your system s performance to assure optimal operation and availability. Avaya Aura Communication Manager (ACM) REAL- TIME MONITORING WITH CTIQ INTELLIGENT MANAGEMENT PLATFORM (IMP) WHAT IT MONITORS WHEN COMBINED WITH VQM CTIQ S VQM MODULE DELIVERS ADVANCED RTCP & QUALITY OF SERVICE (QOS) MONITORS, INCLUDING: GRAPHICAL, REAL TIME & HISTORICAL QOS MEASUREMENTS FOR VOIP CONVERSATIONS o BY REGION, TRUNK, BOARD, IP ADDRESS RANGE, NETWORK SEGMENT MEAN OPINION SCORE (MOS), DELAY, JITTER, PACKET LOSS AND CODEC LAYER- 3 TRACE- ROUTE MAPPING (PER HOP LATENCY) CONFIGURABLE THRESHOLDS AND ALERTS OVERVIEW The Avaya Aura Communication Manager (ACM) FVM enhances visibility and focuses troubleshooting so that enterprises can fully capture the benefits of Avaya s advanced IP telephony while maintaining optimal uptime. System performance and availability are monitored in real- time. When combined with CTiQ s Voice Quality Monitoring (VQM) Module, you have unsurpassed visibility into your Avaya Voice Solution. WHAT IT DOES The ACM FVM automatically discovers and inventories your system, both physical (Media Gateways, etc.) and logical (Trunk Groups, Network Regions, etc.). Dynamic Dependency Trees are created to visually depict co- dependent components. Multiple Events, Alarms and Polling Data are aggregated and presented in Dashboards that are easily customized to meet business and technical needs. Dashboards give at- a- glance views of system health (e.g. IP phone registrations, VoIP Quality of Service, etc.). Outages or degradation are indicated on the Dashboard, and the CTiQ Intelligent Management Platform (IMP) immediately alerts the proper engineering resources for troubleshooting and remediation. Dashboards also deliver real- time utilization statistics and availability of resources (trunk groups, DSP s, etc.). Capacity and performance trending data is visible on- line by drilling down within a Dashboard element, or by generating weekly/monthly reports. WHAT IT MONITORS The CTiQ Intelligent Management Platform (IMP) Active Discovery Process maintains an up to date inventory of key ACM components, including hardware and firmware versions. Card types are easily searched for upgrade planning and validation. You can also view elements by region and location. Each type of ACM inventory group contains a detailed list that is easy to search. It has a filter function that allows for quick return of results on specific criteria, so you can effectively retrieve information.

DEPENDENCY TREES Dependency Trees visually illustrate the FVMs depth and knowledge of the Avaya Aura Communication Manger. Dependency Trees map and correlate all of the resources required by a particular service or application. This correlation puts alarms in context and enables engineers to pinpoint the root cause of the alarm, making rapid trouble resolution possible. A dashboard monitor gives an immediate visual indication of an alert and its severity. These monitors show you the Effect or the affected application. Drilling down into the underlying Dependency Tree lets you narrow down and pinpoint the location of the Cause. EXAMPLE #1 In the above example, we outline the requirements of a Modular Messaging Trunk Group: a Signaling Group, C- LAN, and the Trunk Group Members. The C- LAN in turn is dependent upon its own Board Health, Port Network Chassis, Ethernet Interface Health and IP network reachability. Finally, the Chassis is dependent upon: Registration to the Media Server, its IPSI(s), Packet Interface, Tone Clocks and Power Supplies. EXAMPLE #2 The above example illustrates a failed C- LAN. Should this occur, your support staff will be alerted with not only the specific board failure, but the business impact Modular Messaging is impacted because Trunk Group 57 is down.
