The BI & Data Manager will be workg with the BI Architect, BI Manager(s), other Managers where there are BI requirements, BI & Data team members and other stakeholders, the discovery, development and implementation of BI solutions to meet identified busess needs. The role also volves leadg, acquirg and utilisg the appropriate resources necessary to conduct the development and support to agreed timescalse and service levels. The BI & Data Manager will be responsible for: day-to-day operational aspects of the existg BI and Data Platform landscape projects to add more BI capability delivery of BI capabilities support of other IT projects The BI and Data Manager will apply CUK Development methodology and enforce defed project standards. They will ensure project plans and project documentation is complete, up-to-date, and provide regular project status updates to management, the project team and project stakeholders throughout the life of projects. They will ensure that the BI standards, defitions and quality requirements defed by BI Governance are met by all BI solutions. They must have excellent knowledge and understandg of RDBMS/normalised data, Data Warehousg/denormalised data, tools and techniques for BI development and BI end user tools. The BI & Data Manager will: conduct regular reviews of project and non-project work to mimise exposure to risk and ensure quality objectives are achieved; manage project budgets, trackg time spent by dividuals agast project plan, ensurg optimum cost and maximum staff utilisation to deliver assigned projects on time, quality and budget;
balance project demands agast supportg the existg BI solutions; use tools and structured techniques to deliver project plans, showg all project activities, dependencies, resources, and risks; implement project management methodologies coverg the project life cycle, project objectives, critical success factors and support of the Busess Case. Ma Activities and Responsibilities The BI & Data Manager is directly responsible for: Management Ensurg a BI & Data team with appropriate skills/experience is developed and grown. Providg effective leadership to the BI & Data team ensurg that team members are motivated and stretched. Managg the allocation of BI & Data resources effectively. Providg leadership and direction to Managers volved deliverg major BI Initiatives, as well as undertakg Management of some of the BI Initiatives. Representg the BI & Data team, cludg at BI Governance / Steerg groups, ensurg that effective relationships are built with the Busess and around IT. Workg with the BI Architect, BI Managers, and other senior members of IT to articulate and follow a BI vision/roadmap, demonstratg how and what order major Busess demands can/should be accommodated (cludg what should not be accommodated, and why). Publishg, managg and drivg the operational plan for the BI & Data team. Participatg Vendor/Product evaluation/selection for tools and technologies related to BI / Data Challengg Busess BI demand for value and benefit and contribute to the creation of robust Busess Cases Supportg the defition of end to end Data & BI project scope, goals, deliverables, timescales, resource requirements Providg estimated development costs and timescales for put to busess cases and plans Ensurg appropriate resources are available to support the project Ensurg project and operational plans are communicated to all project stakeholders together with their dividual responsibilities, and progress appropriately reported. Managg project budgets, resource allocation and utilisation.
