1. Introduction to FTP Explorer 1.1 Introduction to FTP Explorer FTP Explorer is an FTP client that allows your ASUSTOR NAS to directly connect to and transfer files from FTP sites. Its intuitive interface is able to display the connected FTP site's file and directory structure allowing you to transfer files via drag and drop. FTP Explorer supports resuming downloads, the deleting of remote files, an FTP site manager and also FTPS connections which allow you to enjoy secure file transfers. 2. Using FTP Explorer 2.1 Installing FTP Explorer STEP 1 Log into ADM and select [App Central]. STEP 2 Click on [ASUSTOR Apps] in the left hand panel and then search for FTP Explorer. Click on the [Install] button to install FTP Explorer. A S U S T O R C O L L E G E / 4

STEP 3 After installation has completed you will be able to see the FTP Explorer icon on the ADM desktop. 2.2 Connecting to FTP sites and transferring files STEP 1 Click on the [FTP Explorer] icon. The App will then open to the screen shown in the graphic below. Enter the address of an FTP site, username, password and port number and then click on the [Connect] button to connect to the site. Note: The default port for FTP connections is usually port 21. A S U S T O R C O L L E G E / 5

STEP 2 After successfully connecting to the FTP site of your choice, you will be able to browse the contents of the FTP site in the right hand panel. You will be able to drag and drop files from the FTP site in the right hand panel to your NAS in the left hand panel. Right-clicking on files or folders will give you options for creating, uploading, deleting and renaming files and folders. A S U S T O R C O L L E G E / 6

Clicking on the arrow button in the lower right hand corner will allow you to view the status of any file transfers. Right clicking on any active transfer jobs will give you options such as stopping and removing the transfer job. A S U S T O R C O L L E G E / 7

STEP 3 Clicking the [Settings] icon in the upper right hand corner will open up the Settings page. You can click on the [Add] button under the [Host] tab to add FTP sites to the list for quick connections in the future. A S U S T O R C O L L E G E / 8

Fill out the required information for the FTP site and then click on [Save] to add it to the list. The FTP site you have added show now appear on the list. A blue indicator beside a site indicates that you are currently connected to the site. You can freely select other FTP sites from the list and connect to them at any time. Under the [General] tab you will find configuration options for maximum simultaneous transfer, maximum download speed and maximum upload speed. Note: The default port for FTP connections is usually port 21. However, this may differ depending on the settings configured by the FTP site administrator. If you are unable to connect to an FTP site, please ensure that: FTP Service has been enabled on the corresponding site The port number you are using is correct The username and password you are using is correct 10 A S U S T O R C O L L E G E /
