1 SFTP Server User Login Instructions Open Internet explorer and enter the following url: You will be prompted for a user id and password as such. Please enter your account id and password. And press the login button. You will be forwarded to your account designated directory.

2 Welcome to SAE s new secure FTP site. A lot of the page is self- explanatory as all buttons have labels, if you need additional instructions you can follow the following instructions or use the help button, located in the right upper corner of the page and can easily be identified by the button with a question mark in it. The main window of the web client is divided into two parts: the tool bar and the directory listing. The tool bar icons are located below the SAE International logo on the left upper side of the screen. The icons have labels that appear when you rest the mouse pointer on them. From left to right Icon Description Go to parent folder (used when you have created sub folders in users root folder {/}) Go to the specified highlighted folder (to traverse into user created sub folders) Go to the users root folder (/) Refresh Directory Listing

3 Upload a file will open an upload window to browse and choose file like windows explorer to upload a file to the ftp site. Download a file will download a selected file that was highlighted in the folder listing on the ftp server. (to select a file to download, click left mouse button on file name) Create a folder. ( a popup will appear to name the new folder) Delete a file or directory that has been selected. (to select a file or folder, click left mouse button on file/folder name) Rename selected file or directory. Open the download manager. This is used to download multiple files. Search for files. A file search that recursively searches through the user s directory view directories in thumbnail mode view directories in list mode You have the capabilities to view help documentation from this page as well as change password. Help document button is a button with a question mark? in it. Change password button is a button with a key in it. The directory listing portion of the screen lists the files loaded into your ftp area. You can modify the look by using thumbnail mode and list mode by using the following toggle button located on the tool bar

4 Downloading files. To download individual files from the ftp site. Select the file by placing the mouse pointer over the file name and pressing the left mouse button, this will highlight file. (do not use the check boxes) Once the file is highlighted, choose download file button The following popup will appear to save the file. Its sixth icon from the left. Press the save button and a save as window will appear and you can choose where to save the file as shown in the following picture. Press the save button. Your file will be saved in your designated area.

5 To Upload a file. Choose the upload icon located 5 th from the left. The following window will appear: Select Browse file button and a select files pop up window will appear. You can use control mouse click to select multiple files. Once selecting all the files select the open button in the lower left corner of the window. This will populate the previous window.

6 Press the upload button to begin the upload process. The status bar will progress during the upload and let you know your upload is complete.

7 As you can see in the back ground the files you selected to upload are present and you can close the upload file pop up window by selecting the close button. Your upload is complete. Filezilla configuration Open filezilla and enter the following information: Host = sftp.sae.org Username Password Port: 22 for sftp Press the Quickconnect button and the following popup will appear: Check the box in front of Always trust this host, add this key to the cache. And press the ok button and you will connect.

8 Command line via sftp: sftp {where (username) is the user account id} accept the key if prompted and enter your password.
