In 903, he constructed a building across the street and subsequently moved his chocolate shop into that location in 97. If you look closely at the picture on this Royal BC Museum, BC Archives - Circa 907 tin you can see the original Rogers Chocolate shop on the left side of the street and what would later be his permanent location (W.B. SHAKESPEARE) on the right side of the street. Today, the building is designated a heritage site and remains our home. Charles Rogers and his wife Leah, gave the City of Victoria many wonderful gifts, including our 93 Government Street store and of course, our world famous, hand-wrapped chocolates.
