As a general guideline, remove cake from refrigeration: o 4 5 hours befe serving a white butter cake of any size o 2 3 hours befe serving cakes 10 smaller o 4 5 hours befe serving cakes 12 larger - Do not leave cakes under direct sunlight - Do not leave cakes inside car (direct sunlight and/ heat may cause the cake collapse) - Do not travel w/ cakes that already reached room temperature (cake may collapse) Warning: if you serve a butter-based cake cold you may perceive it as hard, dry stale

6 Cake Sizes and Serving Guidelines If you are looking serve a small group of guests you may choose from our extensive line of 4-, 6-, and 7- inche round cakes available in the sre. Made--der cakes are 8 larger (4 and 6 cakes are available f tiered cakes only). Determining Cake Sizes The goal is determine a cake size that will serve the crect number of guests. The big difference is wedding cake slices are traditionally smaller than party cake slices. We assembled a chart help you determine what size cake you will need based on your number of guests (it is only a guideline so feel free adjust it). The smaller number of servings represents a standard-party serving, and the larger number of servings represents a wedding-party serving (1 x 2 x height of cake). 7 Cake Cutting Guidelines Whether you are hosting a standard wedding party, the goal is cut clean, attractive and unifm cake slices: - Have the right size cake based on the number of guests: when in doubt go w/ extra cake. - Use a hot knife: dip it in hot water, dry it w/ paper wel, then cut the cake (repeat f every cutting) Party Slices Round cakes 8 and smaller Cut the cake in wedges, without a center circle. F example, cut the cake in half, then quarters, then eights, then sixteenths. Sp cutting when you reach the desired size slice. Round cakes 9 and larger To cut cakes 9 larger, place the knife approximately two inches from the cake's outer edge and cut a circle using the cake s outer edge as a guideline effectively carving an outer cake ring (see picture below). Then slice the outer cake ring (approximately 1.5 thick depending on personal preference). When you finish cutting/serving the outer cake ring, repeat until you are left w/ a 8 smaller round cake in the center then cut it in wedges as described above. Square and Sheet Cakes To cut square and sheet cakes, place the knife approximately two inches from the cake's outer edge and cut a strip of cake using the cake s outer edge as a guideline. Then slice the outer cake strip (approximately 1.5 thick depending on personal preference). When you finish cutting/serving the outer cake strip, repeat until the entire cake is cut/served. Wedding Slices Use the instructions above f cutting round and square cakes, but reduce slice size 1 as per your personal preference.
8 Placing Cake Orders Choosing your cake should be fun and stress free allow enough time plan your cake and place the der. Start by visiting our website learn about cake combinations simply browse the cake gallery f inspiration. Alternatively, and f a me personalized experience, visit our shop we are always happy offer advice and answer questions. See some of our creations on display first-hand, and take a couple of treats home f tasting. We have an extensive collection of cake phos at the shop, but please feel free bring your own pictures, invitations, col swatches, anything else you think might help us design your personalized cake. Placing Orders F standard party cakes we recommend placing your der at least one week in advance. If you plan der a standard party cake, call visit our shop - we are open Monday through Saturday from 7am 6pm and Sunday from 7am 4pm. F cusm-design, shaped and tiered cakes we recommend placing your der at least two weeks in advance. Depending on the complexity of the cake, we advise an in-person consultation w/ one of our staff members. Cake decars are available on an as-needed basis Tuesday through Saturday from 9am 3pm. Whenever possible we will be happy accommodate ders on sht notice, but we can t guarantee it. F last minute needs you may choose from our extensive variety of sck cakes available f pick-up at your convenience. , Phone In-Person You must call visit our shop place an der. We will be happy start a conversation via , but please keep in mind we don't answer s real-time. Deposit Cake ders are not final until we receive a 25% deposit. The deposit is non-refundable if the cake is cancelled w/in 48 hours of pickup delivery time. You may place the deposit over the phone w/ a credit card, in person w/ cash, check credit card. Delivery Delivery is available Tuesday through Saturday, from 8am 2pm most of Westchester, New Yk City, Connecticut, and New Jersey f an extra fee based on the distance from our shop. Cake der plus delivery fee must be paid in full pri delivery date.
