Introduction and Objective The Self-Service Password Management system will allow you to manage or recover your password for ShawAndMe. After reading this material you should be able to log in to ShawAndMe and register your personal password questions and answers. After you register your questions and answers, you will not have to call the Response Center or the ShawAndMe Help Desk if you forget your password. You will be able to reset your own password from any Shaw Computer or Kiosk or from any secure Shaw VPN connection. Cannot Use From The Internet Site Due to security issues, you must be connected to ShawWeb from a Shaw computer, a Shaw Kiosk or a secure VPN connection to register your questions and answers or to reset your password using them. You will not be able to complete this process from your home computer on the ShawAndMe Internet site. Other Passwords May Be Changed When you change your password in this system, your password to Shaw s network systems that use your Windows ID and password will change automatically. Your computer login, PeopleSoft, Ariba, Webmail, and Document Direct are examples of systems that will be affected. Your password on external systems like Outtask will not be affected. Your Lotus Notes mail password on your computer will not change. First Log In The first time you login to ShawAndMe through the portal you will be prompted to register your security questions and answers so that you can manage your own password resets. Click the ShawAndMe hyperlink on the Intranet Home Page. Log in, using the ShawAndMe ID and password that was provided to you. Your ID will always be your Shaw Employee ID. Password Rules If you wish to review the password rules before you select your new password, click the Show Rules button. The following screen will appear. Create a new password following these rules. To hide the rules, click the Hide Rules button. Enter your new password in the New Password field. Enter the same password in the Confirm New Password field. Click. Navigation Tip Do not attempt to navigate through these pages using the back and forward arrows on your browser. Register Security Questions After you login to ShawAndMe, you will see the following screen: Select five of the ten questions by clicking in the check box to the left of each of the questions that you want to use. You may choose any five questions to answer. Click OK. Register Answers When the following screen appears, key the answers to the questions you chose. sdixon Page 5 9/10/2010
Key each answer in the Answer field. For security reasons, your answers will appear as asterisks Key exactly the same answer in each Confirm Answer field. The two answer fields for each question must match exactly. It is easy to make a keying error since the characters you key appear as asterisks. Keying the answers in two different fields will confirm that you have keyed in the correct information even though you can only see asterisks. Click OK If each Answer field does not match the corresponding Confirm Answer field, this message will appear and you will have to key in all your answers again. Examples: What was your first pet s name? Matching: Not Matching: Fluffy Fluffy Fluffy fluffy After you successfully key the answers to the five questions you selected, this screen will display: You have successfully registered your password questions and answers and will be able to use them to reset your password if necessary. sdixon Page 6 9/10/2010
Forgot Your Password? If you enter the wrong password, this message will display: Click the Forgot your password? Hyperlink. The Shaw Self-Service Password Management System will randomly display two of the five questions that you registered. Key the answers to the questions exactly as you keyed them when you registered the questions. The answers will appear as asterisks. Click OK. sdixon Page 7 9/10/2010
If you did not answer the questions exactly as you originally answered them, the following screen will display: Carefully key the answers again. When you key all of the answers correctly and click OK, the following screen will display. You may now create a new password. Password Expiration Your ShawAndMe Password will expire every 90 days. If you log in to a Shaw computer with a personal network ID, you will be prompted to change your password every 90 days and your ShawAndMe password will update at that time. If ShawAndMe is the only computer program that you use, you may not know that your password has expired until you attempt to log in. If you do not have a personal Network ID, it is important that you log in to ShawAndMe to change your password every 90 days or you will have to call the Response Center to have it reset. sdixon Page 8 9/10/2010
Manage Your Password You may edit your questions and answers at any time. To use this function, you must first key your Shaw employee ID (Kronos Badge number) in the Employee number field. If you do not, the following error message will display: Click OK. Enter your Shaw employee ID (Kronos Badge number) in the Employee number field. Click the Manage your password hyperlink. From this screen you can change your password or register new password questions and answers. If you enter your Employee number or password incorrectly, the system will display the following message: sdixon Page 9 9/10/2010
When you enter the correct Employee number and password, you will see the following screen: Change Your Password To change your password, click Change Password. Key the new password in the New Password field. Key the new password in the Confirm New Password field. Click OK. The message below should display, confirming that you have successfully changed your password. sdixon Page 10 9/10/2010
Change Your Password Questions and/or Answers To change your questions or answers: Click Register Questions. You will be redirected to the screen where you originally registered your questions and answers. Answer five of the ten questions as previously directed. To return to the Login screen, click Cancel.
