2 Change Password When you need to change your password, whether because it has expired or you simply would like something new, Avnet Self Care is your main avenue. Changing your password can be done independently, eliminating the need to contact the support desk. Any Avnet application with a change password link will open Avnet Self Care. If you are required to change your password upon first login, you will be directed to use Avnet Self Care If an administrator has reset your password manually, you will be directed to use Avnet Self Care to set your own secret password. The following set of screenshots and captions will help direct you through the Change Password process within Avnet Self Care. Avnet Self Care Login Screen
3 Enter your Avnet user ID, which is your address if you are a Customer, Supplier or VAR, and is your Employee/Contractor # or username if you are an internal user. Enter your existing password, either provided to you in an , verbally by an administrator or one that you have set yourself. Click the Log In button to proceed
4 Click Change Password to proceed Enter your existing password, which you used to log into the Avnet Self Care application a moment ago. Take a moment to review your password criteria before selecting your new password. Type in your new password and retype to confirm Click Ok to proceed
5 Upon successful changing of your password, you will receive the following confirmation screen. If you are finished with your Avnet Self Care tasks, you may click Logoff at the upper right hand corner of the screen.
6 Change Forgotten Password Information The forgotten password function of Avnet Self Care allows you to change your password, even if you have forgotten your existing password, by prompting you to answer 3 challenge/response questions. In order to use this feature, it is important that you update your Forgotten Password Information while you are actively logged into the system. If you have forgotten your password and have not yet updated your information, you will need to contact an administrator for assistance. The following set of screenshots and captions will help direct you through the Change Forgotten Password Information process within Avnet Self Care. Avnet Self Care Login Screen
7 Enter your Avnet user ID, which is your address if you are a Customer, Supplier or VAR, and is your Employee/Contractor # or username if you are an internal user. Enter your existing password, either provided to you in an , verbally by an administrator or one that you have set yourself. Click the Log In button to proceed
8 If you have never set up your Forgotten Password Information, you will be prompted by the Action Needed section. Otherwise, refer to the My Password section for the Change Forgotten Password Information link. Click Forgotten Password Information link
9 Select three questions to answer that you will be able to remember in the future. Click the Ok button to proceed.
10 Review your Forgotten Password Information Click the link at the bottom to proceed and then close your browser window
11 Retrieving a Forgotten Password If you have set up your Forgotten Password Information, as described in the previous section, you will be able to gain access to change your password in the event you have forgotten it. If you have not had an opportunity to set up your Forgotten Password Information or you cannot recall your answers, please contact your support desk (see the end of this document) so that they can manually reset your password. o After an administrator has manually reset your password, you will be required to change it to your own secret password through Avnet Self Care. o After you have changed your password, take this opportunity to configure your new Forgotten Password Information The following set of screenshots and captions will help direct you through the Forgot your password? process within Avnet Self Care. 12 Enter your Avnet user ID, which is your address if you are a Customer, Supplier or VAR, and is your Employee/Contractor # or username if you are an internal user. Click the Forgot your password? link to proceed Type in the answers to each of the three questions Click the Ok button to proceed
13 Review the criteria for your new password Type in your new password twice to confirm Click the Ok button to proceed You will see the confirmation that your password has been changed Click the Logoff button in the upper right corner to end your session
14 Tips When logging into Avnet Self Care, remember to use your Avnet ID. o Avnet ID for Avnet Customers, Suppliers and VARs is your address that you used when registering o Avnet ID for AMER/APAC Avnet Employees and Contractors is the six digit alpha/numeric number you were assigned upon employment o Avnet ID for EMEA Employees is the same username that you use to log into your workstation, but without the domain in front. (i.e. smithj instead of ats/smithj) When clicking on the Forgot your password? link on the login page, remember to first type in your Avnet ID.
