February 10, 2016 Announcing the annual SADIES DANCE!!! Glow up and show up to "Light Up The Night." Ask a special someone or round up your friends for an evening of fun! There are no limits when it comes to Sadies on March 5th, so let's make it lit! HHS CHESS The Hanford High School Chess Club won the Tri-Cities High School Chess League held on February 6th. The club members participating were Max Beeson, Chloe Carr, Luke Geeting, Logan Lam, Emily Tan, Will Thompson, An Wang.

Happy Valentine's Day from PANDA EXPRESS! Hanford PTSA is hosting a Panda Express fundraiser this Sunday 2/14 from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Present the coupon or picture of the flyer from your smartphone when you order at the Queensgate/Duportail location. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to our PTSA. Good Fortune for all who participate! ME to WE Day club is sponsoring the Gift of a Goat for Valentine's Day. Collection to begin Wednesday, February 10, 2016 during your first period class. You will find a Valentine box with your first period teacher's name in which to place your donations. This is one of our ways of helping a family in Africa to have a sustainable income. Each goat will provide a source of nutritious milk and an income for families. Every $50.00 is equivalent to one goat for a family in Africa. We hope you will join us in attaining our goal of providing 25 goats = $1,250.00. Hanford will be hosting the annual Spring Blood Drive on February 22. Donor signups will begin Monday, February 8. For students to be eligible to donate, they must be 16 years or older and meet certain height and weight requirements. For more information talk to Mr. Kelly or Mrs. Fenton. Students may turn in packets and sign up for the blood drive either in Mr. Kelly's room (before or after school) or at lunch. During lunch there will be a table in the commons with the sign-up list and extra packets. Students will be there from Wednesday to Friday to collect packets or answer questions. If you have any other questions contact Ms. Fenton or Mr. Kelly.

HHS Key Club will begin their campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Pennies for Patients Feb. 22-26th. Collection boxes will be in 3rd period classes. The classroom with the most donations will earn an Olive Garden lunch. There is also a website for families to donate online: http://events.lls.org/pages/wa/hanfordhighschool Supplies for soldiers is starting up again. People will come around to talk to your second hour class this week. Everything collected will be put into care packages and sent overseas. So please donate. The winning class to provide the most supplies will win spudnuts. Senior Class fundraiser is the sale of See's Candy to raise money for the Senior Class gift----so please join us Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Room 2011 to pick-up your order---mrs. Russell's classroom. We even ordered extras is case your Valentine is a candy lover---suckers, dark chocolate, milk chocolates, heart shaped boxed small boxes, too. If you have placed an order, pick it Wednesday for Valentines' Day, Sunday, February 14, 2016. Come see what it's all about. Junior class council will be selling Valentine's Day grams at both lunches for the rest of the week for $1, which will include a personalized note and chocolate. Grams will be delivered this Friday during 6th period. Please have the 6th period teacher of those who you re buying for written down to help us insure that every gram is delivered before school ends on Friday.

Free SAT on February 15 at Hanford High School from 7:45 am until 1 pm. Please sign up with Mrs. Hammitt in the main office by February 11 to save a spot. It's time to sign up for the PSAT10. If you missed the PSAT in October or want to take it again, we are offering the PSAT10 on February 24th after school. The cost is $17 and you can pay bookkeeping. Spots are limited so sign up today! If you have any questions, see Mrs. Atencio. PSAT Results Review from October/Next Steps Meeting will be February 10th at 6 p.m. at the HHS Library. This meeting is for parents and students to receive their paper scores, how to interpret the results and learn about resources for SAT preparation. SAGE college prep services will also present information and answer questions. TUTORING/HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE A free service provided by HHS Key Club Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30-3:30 in room 2503 FALCON FRIDAYS!!! SHOW YOUR PRIDE.WEAR PURPLE There will be a meeting for all students interested in playing baseball this year on Thursday, February 11th after school in the Large Eyrie gym.

UW NURSE CAMP 2016 Are you currently a high school sophomore or junior (who will be 16 years of age by July 18, 2016) interested in learning what the nursing field is all about? Do you want to know how to get into nursing school? Apply to participate in the University of Washington School of Nursing's Nurse Camp 2016! This FREE week-long day camp is geared toward increasing access and opportunities in nursing to diverse and first in their family to go to college and to high school sophomores and juniors who are at least 16 years of age by the first day of camp. We will meet the 1 st & 3 rd Tuesday of the month in Mrs. Bell's room (1209) from 2:30-3:00. Random Acts of Kindness Club is a new club here at Hanford. We will be doing projects to promote kindness throughout the school and to also recognize students and faculty. At each meeting, we will discuss new projects as well as work on existing ones. We want to show every student at HHS that they are cared about We meet Every Tuesday right after school in Mr. Koch s room (2606). If you would like to become part of the WE DAY club, we meet on Wednesday's after school in Mr. Perez's room 2009. Me to we club is trying to raise funds to Buy a Goat as a Valentines fundraiser.
