The Workbench Has Six Main Areas Of Functionality: Workbench Home is the entry screen of the workbench (See PAS Workbench In-depth Document), providing access to the archiving specific sites of SDN (SAP Developer Network) and the SAP Service Marketplace on the web. INTRODUCTION Through the implementation and understanding of our clients problems from the start of data archiving project, PAS have developed a suite of technology tools that would be highly recommended to all our clients, to aid in the project implementation both from a technical and operational (business) perspective. The PAS Workbench provides a centralised portal to the majority of the archiving reports and transactions required in the set-up and maintenance of all Archivelink based scenarios. Archivelink holds the base transactions for setting up archiving, including communications (Protocols), content repositories, document types and links. PAS have also developed a migration program that allows you to move Archivelink files between different content repositories and/or different archive servers from different vendors. OpenText are of course the de-facto leader in SAP Archiving technology, and the workbench allows easy access to all the Opentext customising transactions, and also includes an integrated Server Monitor and troubleshooting functions. Data Archiving allows access to the main archiving transactions such as SARA and the Archive Information System (SAP-AS). The Proceed Extended Analysis function within our workbench will query the SAP configuration for table modifications and programs that are affected by running a given archiving object. Knowing a list of objects, reports & transactions that potentially need to be tested drastically reduces the testing and implementation time of a data archiving project. PAS Watchman gives a window on the databases largest and fastest growing objects without the need to go via the DB02 transaction. The latest version of Watchman also includes new functions to group tables by archiving object, year and company code, to get an accurate picture of the data archiving opportunities. PDF Documents allows you to customise SAP for the storage of outgoing documents (Purchase Orders, Billing, Deliveries etc) as PDF copies in a content server. Additionally, PAS have developed a program that can go back in time and reprint all historical documents in SD/MM as PDFs into the archive. There is also access to the most important Archiving resources on the Web, direct from within the Workbench.
