Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Sova, and without them we simply couldn t operate. The Strengening communities Support Officer role is critical in ensuring that they provide project level support across our strengthening communities work stream in London. Providing the right support for our projects ensuring that databases and admin tasks are carried out as well as providing support to volunteers and services users where required. The support officer role will work closely with the Services Leader ensuring tasks are completed to high standard.

PRINCIPAL TASKS 1. To take responsibility for specific tasks, including data inputting and collation; maintaining records; gathering information and general administration. 2. To take part in volunteer recruitment and selection alongside the London Volunteer Hub 3. To assist project staff with volunteer workshops and project level training 4. To process relevant paperwork. 5. To provide first line information and advice to service users and volunteers 6. To assist in the production and distribution of materials to promote the Sova s work 7. To process returns, including monitoring returns, petty cash, sickness, expenses and other returns as relevant 8. To service meetings including preparing and circulating agendas, distributing papers, booking rooms and taking minutes 9. To contribute to the promotion of the project and Sova 10. To maintain productive relationships with other Sova projects including attending meetings, preparing reports etc. 11. To be self administrating 12. To contribute to meeting project targets and objectives 13. To take part in regular supervision with line manager 14. To participate in the general development of Sova through meetings, training and attendance of other events 15. To cover any appropriate aspect of other team members roles in their absence 16. To carry out any other duties within the scope of the post

Overtime is not payable as Sova operates a time off in lieu system for any hours worked in addition to those stated. This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period. 1 week s notice is required on either side from the date of appointment, once confirmed in post notice will be 4 weeks either side. This post is dependent on current funding.
