INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW This dcument is intended t prvide the Chime administratr, and ther peple in the IT rganizatin, with a high level list f requirements and cnfiguratins that will be required t install and cnfigure Chime. Instant Chime fr IBM Sametime is an enterprise service desk applicatin that enables service desk enablement, and click t chat functinality, using IBM Sametime as the IM ruting and presence platfrm. Typically, Chime is deplyed as part f either an Apache Tmcat\Micrsft SQL Express installatin r an IBM Websphere\IBM DB2 deplyment. Yur installatin and cnfiguratin preferences are generally based n enterprise preferences and internal licensing. Chime leverages the IBM Sametime platfrm fr agent awareness and agent IM ruting and this IBM Sametime functinality may be accessed via an n-premise installatin r via the IBM Sametime service prvided the IBM clud functinality (IBM Smarter Clud). The fllwing high level verview shuld help administratrs visualize the cnfiguratin and installatin: The Chime server is a Java Spring based applicatin that runs under either Apache\Tmcat r IBM Websphere. The Chime server requires access t either Micrsft SQL Express, Micrsft SQL, r IBM DB2. The Chime server cmmunicates with the IBM Sametime server using prt 1533 and n mdificatins are necessary t the IBM Sametime server (except the additin f several new IBM Sametime accunts t act as dispatchers) Chime requires a new database t be created n the SQL engine build scripts and installatin steps are handled during the Chime installatin prcess Cpyright 2014 Instant Technlgies. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Chime may be installed n virtual machines, such as Oracle Virtual Bx r VMWare. The recmmended specificatins are: RAM: 4 GB Prcessr: 2 GHz Dual Cre Intel/AMD 64 bit Disk space: depends f SQL database lcatin. Lcal instance f SQL: 60-80 GB Netwrked instance f SQL: 40 GB 64-bit Windws Server 2008R2 r Windws Server 2012 - r Linux machine Applicatin shuld nt be installed n the same server hsting IBM Sametime. Write access t Chime database (built during installatin) The applicatin supprts bth SQL and Windws server authenticatin ptins. Read Access t Windws Active Directry r LDAP Oracle JRE 7.0 + Create/Read/Write access t enterprise SQL envirnment IBM DB2 9.7 and abve r Micrsft SQL Express r Micrsft SQL Server IBM Sametime 8.0 and abve Chime fr Sametime will access IBM Sametime using prt 1533 as a Java applicatin Java applicatin server: IBM Websphere 8.5 and abve r Apache Tmcat 7.0 and abve Cpyright 2014 Instant Technlgies. REQUIRED ACCOUNTS: The fllwing accunts will be need fr the installatin and/r peratin f Chime. Active Directry query accunt This accunt will be used by Chime t query Active Directry fr users AD Username: Passwrd: Chime SQL Accunt This accunt will be used by Chime t read and write infrmatin t the Chime database. Username: Passwrd: Admin SQL Accunt This accunt is used t create/update the Chime database during installatin r upgrade. This accunt requires admin privileges n the SQL server. This accunt infrmatin is nt stred, and is nly utilized during creatin r updating. Username: Passwrd: Dispatcher accunt - This accunt will be used by Chime t cnnect request frm a seeker t Sametime experts. This accunt needs t be Sametime enabled.
