Where to find help? PRACTICALITIES It may happen that you will need, especially at the beginning of your stay, some help. Depending on the kind of problems you have you can contact: - academic and didactic issues: always contact the appropriate departmental coordinator (usually a lecturer). S/he will help you with timetables, courses, ECTS points, Learning Agreements, Transcript of Records, credits, lecturers etc. - administrative and organisational issues: people from the International Relations Office (Collegium Minus) from Erasmus Team (Mrss. Schwierz and Mucha). We can help you with scanning your documents (LAs, TRs etc.) sending them to your universities via mail, fax or e-mail, problems with dormitories and also with issues with which you need an immediate help or advice as departmental coordinators are not always available. - daily issues: regular students, memebers of the Buddy Programme. Issues concerning walking around the city, restaurants, clubs but also libraries, theatres, cinema etc.
Buddy Programme: - gathers students of the Opole University who want to help our Incoming Students - the scope of this help is vast, basically you can contact the members when: - you have troubles with orientation within the campus; - they can pick you up from the train station; - you can ask them to help you in the Dean s Offices and dormitory; - or ask about transportation in Opole and Poland. They want to be your friends and colleagues. Our University is scattered around the centre of the city. You can have classes in various buildings often called Collegia. The Main Library builing is located on the Strzelców Bytomskich Street 2. It is next to the Instytut Śląski, which is easily visible as opposite is the Młynówka Canal, also known as Opolean Venice.
Why do you need the Dean s Office? - in the appropriate Dean s Office, you will be given you login and password for eduroam (wi-fi internet connection); - you can collect your Student s Identity Card there; - near the end of your stay/semester you collect from there Karta zaliczeniowa where your teachers fill in your grades; - near the end of your stay/semester you collect from there Karta Obiegowa on which you have to collect all necessary stamps from the Library (that you do not have any books borrowed), the Dormitory (that you have paid all fees), the appropriate Dean s Office (that you gave them the Karta zaliczeń and your Student s Identity Card).
