WHAT IS IT College Credit Plus replaces the Post-Secondary Education Option, also known as PSEO, and redefines alternative dual enrollment programs as advanced standing programs (for collegeready students in grades 7-12) Eligible students can take a course and earn high school and college credit that appears on both their high school and college transcripts.

WHERE? At a high school, taught by a high school teacher (adjunct) At a high school, taught by a college/university instructor At college/university, taught by a college/university faculty Online or online at a high school (proctored by high school teacher)

COST There is no cost for the student to participate in College Credit Plus when the student is enrolled in a public college or university. The high school and college or universities share the cost for the course.

IF YOU FAIL THE CLASS OR DROP IT TOO LATE, Y0U MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT Classes failed or withdrawn with an F will receive an F on the high school and college transcripts and will be computed into the high school and college GPA. If you do not receive a passing grade, the district may, in some instances, seek reimbursement for the amount of state funds paid to the college on your behalf for that college course. The school district may withhold grades and credits received for high school courses taken until reimbursement has been made.

STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS Based on college/university enrollment criteria In General: Successful completion of previous College Prep course with B average or higher ACT Sub-scores 18-English 21-Reading 22-Math College readiness score on ACCUPLACER or COMPASS TEST

HOW DOES A STUDENT GET STARTED? Students must complete a college application required by individual college or university (to be eligible, students must meet the admissions standards of the participating college or university to which they apply for enrollment) May have to take a placement test and other criteria Submit letter of intent to student s school counselor by April 1 st

CREDIT HOURS Up to 30 college credit hours per academic year; summer not included No more than 120 college credit hours while in the program

HOW DOES COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS IMPACT ATHELTIC ELIGIBITY? You must remain eligible in accordance with the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) bylaws. To be athletically eligible, students must be passing five, one credit courses or the equivalent per grading period with the high school and college courses combined. Most College Credit Plus courses taken during a semester will equal one Carnegie unit, allowing students to earn more than the required five for athletic eligibility. Please check with your counselor to ensure that the course work you are taking is compliant the OHSAA.

PATHWAYS A Pathway may be organized by a major or career path Include various core courses required for a degree or professional certification by the college A pathway does not keep a student from choosing different courses (following a pathway is preferred but not required. Students may choose from a variety of courses)
