1 College Credit Plus Presented by: Kristin Skiles Previous Dual Enrollment Offered Dual Enrollment opportunities for the past 8 years to many school districts in Clark, Champaign, Greene, Montgomery, Logan, Union and Warren Counties Currently partner with 22 different school districts offering over 120 classes to high school students in the high school Annually have students participate in PSEO Delivery Methods In the high school: To be an instructor of record, the high school teacher must have either a Master s degree in content or a Master s degree in any content with 18 semester or 24 quarter hours of content at the graduate level. An instructor who is currently pursuing a Master s degree in content may be approved conditionally by the Vice President of Academic Affairs. 1

2 Delivery Methods cont d Online Options: College Credit Plus specific online course offerings may be available based upon demand. A Clark State faculty member would be the instructor of record. The high school could potentially facilitate the content, based upon the decision of the high school. On Campus: Available to all 7 th through 12 th grade students. Student Eligibility All students must complete the appropriate College Credit Plus application by the deadlines posted to be eligible to participate in College Credit Plus. All students will be required to submit either ACT, SAT or Compass test results prior to enrolling in the course to ensure all pre-requisites and co-requisites are met. Funding Clark State will not charge more than the amounts defined in the funding plan from the state. We will work with school districts to offer courses in the high school, online, and on our campus. We will work with every district to develop a plan that works for students and schools. 2

An advisor will be assigned to all students participating in College Credit Plus. All information can be provided to school districts for web, print or press releases. Services to High Schools Compass testing is provided to all school districts free of charge. Installation of Compass on school computers to be administered as needed for students. School districts can bring students to campus to test and have a college visit day, including lunch! Students can come to any campus to test as needed free of charge as well. 4

5 Services to Students As a College Credit Plus student, each student will have all access to all of the resources as a traditional student including: Tutoring assistance Library services College ID Office of Accessibility services A personal advisor to answer any questions he/she may have about the enrollment process or transferability of courses Professional Organizations Clark State is a member of NACEP, the only national accrediting body of dual enrollment best practices. Clark State is also a member of OADEP, the state chapter of NACEP. The involvement in NACEP is crucial during the ongoing changes and gives all K-12 and IHE s a voice in the dual enrollment world in Ohio. Questions?
