Doctoral candidates have the flexibility to arrange the coursework according to their individual time constraints.
Coursework and summer school The following courses are incorporated into HHL s doctoral program: Fall Winter/Spring Economic Analysis and Policy Philosophical Underpinnings of Management Research Electives, e.g. Multivariate Analysis Methods of Management Research Econometrics Summer school Two summer school modules are offered at the end of the first and second academic years covering current topics in management research. Events include case-based research in key areas of business administration as well as high-profile international guest lecturers and forums on current research topics. The opportunity to network with other doctoral candidates is especially valuable.
Admission Admission to HHL s doctoral program is highly competitive. Applicants are evaluated based on the following: Above-average master-level degree in management or economics Curriculum vitae Personal interview with a professor at HHL and acceptance of research proposal Letter of recommendation from employer or previous academic advisor Proof of proficiency in English (e.g. TOEFL) HHL offers rolling admission. However, coursework is scheduled to start in September of each year. The tuition fee is Euro 15,000 for the entire program. It is to be paid in three installments by the beginning of each academic year. Scholarships may be made available to outstanding candidates. Partner The FENIX Centre for Innovations in Management is an international research center with locations in Göteborg, Stockholm und Paris. At the Executive Doctoral School managers from industry work parttime to finish a thesis in management. Many of the graduates have completed their research in R&D organizations on the difficult issue of managing R&D and the innovation process, whereas others have put their focus on the problem of creating cross-functionality in organizations or involving customers in the development process.
