LRTT Training Directory 2011 11 Limitation Removal Courses The changes from the UK national licensing system to EASA means that the traditional A&C licence holder is now required to perform electrical maintenance tasks in addition to the traditional airframe and engine maintenance tasks. Although a restricted B1 can be issued without any further training, this restricts the authorisation capability of the licence holder to the exact authorisation areas they held before the change to EASA licensing. Individuals can retain authorisation grandfather rights but these expire when the individual moves company or the existing company adds a new aircraft type. To remove limitaions 1 and 9 and to attain an unrestricted B1 licence the following modular and sub modular examinations need to be passed. The added advantage of attaining an unrestricted B1 licence is that you can extend the licence to include the B2 category. LRTT Training Directory 2011 12 Licence Extension Courses B1 - B2 and B2 - B1 LRTT provide EASA Part-66 modular licence extension courses which add authorisation capabilities to an existing EASA Part-66 B1 or B2 Licence, creating more experienced and efficient engineers. The multi-licensed engineer can sign off many additional maintenance tasks, resulting in highly qualified and flexible staff. The modular structure of the courses makes training extremely flexible; modules can be booked in any order and scheduled around work commitments. As LRTT is an approved training provider, we set and administer the examinations for each module in-house. This reduces costs in transport and time away to attend central examinations. We even offer a free examinations resit per module, should it be required. LRTT Training Directory 2011 28 Location, Life and Leisure The Local Area Local Information The Cotswolds The Cotswolds region covers an area of 790 square miles in the upper part of the southwest region of England and is the country s largest officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Popular with both the English themselves and international visitors from all over the world, the area is well known for gentle hillsides ( wolds ), outstanding countryside with river valleys, water meadows and beech woods, sleepy ancient limestone villages, historic market towns and for being so typically English where time has stood still for over 300 years. Throughout the Cotswolds stone features in buildings and stone walls act as a common thread in seamlessly blending the historic towns & villages with their surrounding landscape. The Nearest Town of Cirencester was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times. Today the former Corinium Dobunnorum is home to more than 18,000 people and a service centre for the thousands more who live in surrounding villages. In later years it was a very prosperous medieval wool town. Cirencester s market square is dominated by the cathedral-like St. John Baptist church (one of the largest in England). The large south porch with it s impressive fan vaulting was built about 1490. Cirencester s market town status was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. Traders still set up their stalls every Monday and Friday and since 1999 the town has had its own farmers market. Crafts and antiques markets are also regular attractions. The first Agricultural College in the English speaking world was founded by Henry 4th Earl Bathurst who became founding president of the Royal College of Agriculture in Cirencester. The college was established to train young farmers in the best agricultural methods of the time and to lead the way with innovations.
