Through the exercises and the integrated project simulation, our instructors provide concrete and constructive feedback to instill confidence and guide continuous improvement. The result is not just an academic appreciation for the theory of project management, but practical insights into what does and does not work in delivering project success and realizing project management mastery. People and Leadership (Modules 2 & 7) Process (Modules 3-6) Advanced Program in Project Organizational (Module 1) Is This Program for You? I would highly recommend this program. The skills I learned were immediately transferable to my job and the instructors ensured the concepts were relevant to how I need to manage for success. Best of all, the program brought me together with students from different backgrounds and industries in a way that really allowed me to appreciate the different approaches to project management and the different tools used to achieve results. - Lorraine Nichols, past participant Module 1: Project Fundamentals & Organizational Considerations In this module you will be provided with an understanding of how to effectively select, evaluate and prioritize projects within your organization, and you will gain an appreciation of the considerations associated with defining a corporate project management capability. Module 5: Managing Project Execution Equally important to the delivery of projects is the appropriate management of expectations. You need to, not only, report status and conduct status and steering committee meetings, but also maintain organizational awareness. You will learn how to effectively manage and positively influence stakeholder perceptions. The workshop will focus on identifying project stakeholders, identifying deliverables, defining resources and exploring different planning approaches. Our Philosophy Of Project From the outset, our philosophy of project management has been grounded in a single, fundamental principle: there is no one right way to manage projects. While there are numerous standards, guides and processes that describe how projects are managed, each of these simply offers one possible perspective. The right approach depends upon the culture and environment within your organization, the objectives and value you seek to realize from your projects and project management, and the practices and approaches you will use to best realize these outcomes. This philosophy has fundamentally influenced the development of the Advanced Program in Project. The program has been developed to help you explore the various methods and approaches by which strategic projects can be delivered. It presents not just one approach, but multiple. The curriculum is designed to stretch and expand your perspectives and capabilities, providing you a range of potential solutions by which to manage your strategic projects. Hands-On Simulation One of the unique and essential features of the Advanced Program in Project is the integrated, hands-on simulation woven throughout the program. The simulation provides an opportunity to integrate the full scope of learning in a practical and applied way. You draw on your full range of skills and expertise to initiate, plan and manage a complex and challenging project undertaking in collaboration with a team of your peers. Presenting realistic problems in a real-world scenario, the simulation provides a safe environment in which to explore and apply the principles that are developed throughout the program; an environment that promotes exceptional team building and collaboration. The result is greater confidence in your ability to apply the results of the program in actual practice. By the end of the program, teams have developed strong networks that last far beyond the final module.
