Sending Targeted Gift Promotions Command Center Guide With Front Flip gift promotions, you can reach your entire customer database with highly targeted offers. For example, you can: Contact your weekday customers with an offer to bring them back on the weekends Target Millennials (18-34) with an offer to come in for a happy hour with friends Invite customers who live within 5 miles of your location(s) to come in for a visit Send a personalized offer to all the women or men in your database Announce a new product or service to all your customers Gift promotions are different from automated gifts in two major ways: Gift promotions run one time only. Automated gifts run on an ongoing basis. Gift promotions allow you to reach your entire customer database once per month. Automated gifts reach only customers who meet certain criteria (for example, their birthday, X days since their last visit, etc.) So why should you send gift promotions? They are an excellent frequency driver for your business! Gift promotions arrive in the Front Flip app on your customers phones with a personalized message and a ticking clock to visit and redeem. They allow you to stay top of mind and engage your customers with meaningful offers they can share with friends. Follow the steps below to launch a gift promotion campaign. Questions? It should take only about 5 minutes to complete the Wizard and send an offer directly to your customers phones. 1. If you have multiple locations in your account, click the All Groups dropdown arrow in the topright corner of your screen. Then click Change Group. a. To set up gift promotions at the account level (meaning they will apply to all locations in the account), click All Groups, then click Select. b. To set up gift promotions for a specific group of locations within your account, click the group name, then click Select. (Note: If you want to target customers who have visited at a single location, please see the Target Customers by Location instructions on page 6.) 2014 Front Flip LLC frontflip.com 1
2. Click MARKETING in the top navigation bar, then click Gift Promotions. 3. Click CREATE under My Gift Promotions. Step 1: Target Your Audience Too many marketing tools are one-size-fits-all. Front Flip is different. We allow you to quickly and easily target your customers with the right message and offer based on who they are and how they interact with your business. The Gift Campaign Wizard offers the following customer filters: Gender: Target only males, only females or both. Age: Hone in on Millennials (18-34), Gen-X (35-49), Baby Boomers (50-69) or whatever age group you want to reach. Distance: Target customers who live within a specific radius of your location(s). Distance is based on the user s home zip code, which they provide in the Front Flip app. Frequency: Reach your hyper-loyal customers (those who have scanned X number of times in the last 30 or 60 days) with a special offer they can share with friends. Alternatively, you can target inactive customers who have not scanned recently with an offer to get them re-engaged. Time of Visit: Target customers who have scanned on a certain day of the week or time of day. For example, reach your weekday lunch crowd with an offer to bring them back for a weekend dinner. Most Unlucky: Send a special offer to customers who have scanned for instant rewards but haven t won. You can define the number of unlucky customers you want to reach and the time frame of their most recent scans. LOCATION TARGETING: If you have multiple locations and want to target customers who have visited a specific location, please see the Target Customers by Location instructions on page 6. Follow these steps to target-market your customers: 1. Under Filters, select the filter options you would like to apply to target-market your customers. (See filter descriptions above.) 2. Once you have selected the filters to apply, click Update. Your customer count on the right-hand side of the screen will update to show the number of people who match the customer profile you selected. 3. If the number of customers who will receive your gift is larger than you d like, you can enter a smaller number in the Send To field. Your gift recipient list will be limited to that number. (For example, if you want to introduce a new product to a target market of 500 customers, you would enter 500 in the Send To field.) 4. Step 2: Define Your Offer When creating an offer in the Gift Campaign Wizard, you can see exactly how it will display for customers in the Front Flip mobile app. It s a good idea to double check your settings on this screen to ensure that all conditions are clearly stated and that you have no typos or misspellings. 1. In the Campaign Name field, enter a unique title for the promotional gift. (For example, June New Product Promo ) 2. In the Gift field, enter the exact offer as it should appear to customers on their phones. You are limited to 42 characters. Here are some sample gifts that perform very well for Front Flip clients: Buy 1 Entrée, Get 1 Free 1/2 Price Appetizer $1 Off Any Seasonal Coffee $5 Off Your Next Salon Service 3. In the From field, enter the name of your business as it should appear to customers. 4. In the Share Limit field, select the number of times customers may share your gift with their friends. This field defaults to 3 shares. If you select 0, the Share with Friends button will not display to customers when they open your gift in the Front Flip app. 5. In the Gift Discount Value, enter the dollar value of the discount your customer will receive. For example, if you are offering a ½ price appetizer and your average appetizer is $8, the discount value would be $4. 6. In the Valid Until field, select the date your gift will expire. We recommend that gifts are valid for at least 7 days so you can give customers enough time to visit and redeem. 7. In the Conditions field, enter any restrictions you want to place on the gift. For example: With purchase of [product]. Cannot be combined with other offers. Dine-in only. 8. In the Message field, enter an introduction for your gift. This will display to customers before they unwrap the gift. (Note that you are limited to 85 characters.) Here are some sample messages: Come in and try summer menu! We can't wait to see you again. Free coffee? It s on us! Here s your excuse to come in and see us! Bring a friend to [business name] and enjoy this great deal! Come in for a wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food. This gift is sharable! 9. Step 3: Select Your Wrapping Paper The Front Flip Command Center comes pre-loaded with branded wrapping paper for your business. It also includes a selection of Front Flip and holiday wrapping paper. For gift promotions, we recommend that you use your branded paper so customers will immediately recognize your business when they open the gift. Once you ve made your wrapping paper selection, click Next. Step 4: Confirm Your Settings Carefully review your gift settings, including the gift preview on the right-hand side of the screen. Then decide whether you want to send the gift immediately or schedule it to send at a future date and time. If you want to schedule your gift, follow these steps: 1. Click Choose the date. 2. Click the calendar icon and select your date from the calendar popup. 3. Select the time your gift should be sent. Target Customers by Location In addition to the customer filters described on page 2 of this guide, you can also target your customers based on the location they have visited. This is helpful if you have multiple stores and want to send out an offer that s specific to a single location. To target customers by location, follow these steps: 1. Click LOYALTY in the top navigation menu, then click Customers. 2. Under Customer Filters > Locations, click Change Location. 3. Select the location whose customers you want to target with your gift promotion, then click Select. (You may also apply additional customer filters if you choose.) 4. Click Update at the bottom of the Customer Filters menu. The list of customers on the right will be refreshed to show only those customers who have visited the location you selected. 5. In the bottom-right corner of the screen, click Create a Gift Campaign. The Gift Campaign Wizard opens at step 2. 6. Edit a Gift Promotion You can update your gift promotions at any time, even after you have sent this to customers. Your changes will be reflected immediately in the Front Flip mobile app. To change a gift, click Edit in the lower-right corner of the Gift Promotions screen. Please note that your customers will also receive an email notification when you send them a gift, and the content of that email cannot be changed once the email is sent.
