Age group : 11-16 Maximum class 10 The Key of Fashion Workshop is to give young girls new drawing skills, a sense of how the fashion industry works, and understanding how to look at trends and branding. We will go into the whole process of developing the students own line. The end product will be a complete group of sketches of a fashion line, with accessories, and fashion faces. The six-week class will focus on the basics of drawing the face, taking good reference photos, considering value and color temperature, and interpreting these into a painterly finished product. A materials list (basic watercolor supplies) will be supplied in advance. Students should have the ability to take digital photos (a digital camera, cellphone camera, or tablet camera for an in-class photo shoot). If a model is available towards the end of the sixweek session students will chip in for the modeling fee. Oil Painting Painting Ordinary Objects in an Interesting Way Instructor Daniel Paulding Level, Beginner or Intermediate Mondays starting July 13th, 20th, 27th, August 3rd, 10th and 17th. 9a.m. to 12 p.m. 6 sessions Price : $125 plus $50 lab fee Class size 4-8 persons Primarily focusing on still life objects, we will explore the concept that It s not what you paint, but how you paint it. Through a series of simple exercises the student will develop observational, compositional, and technical skills while at the same time utilizing creative and playful brushwork. These skills are interchangeable with other forms of representational and even abstract art. Lessons will be reinforced by using the elements and principles of design as well as brief and friendly critique sessions. Friday, August 21st. Morning class, 11am 2:30pm Catch~All Basket Price per student per class : $47.
Afternoon class, 3:30pm 7:30pm Lake Shore Basket Price per student per class : $60. All materials provided. 1. Catch ~ All Basket. This is a functional basket with a flat round base that weaves upward to a cylinder form. We will use reeds that vary from blues to greens. Add accent colors of an embellishment. Handle is optional if time allows. Allow 3 hours to finish this 6 9 basket. 2. Lake Shore Basket. This is a decorative pocket style basket that hangs on the wall with a reed loop. We will use natural reed as our base then weave in bands of color and texture. We will be adjusting the weaving with a tapestry technique to create hills and valleys ( lakes and mountains ) keeping the surface exciting and unique. Bring a few beads, charms or an embellishment to add to your basket if you choose. Allow 4 hours to finish this 7 16 basket. Basket weaving is a rhythmic activity which leads to relaxation and reflection. Allow the beauty of the lakes and mountains inspire you! Join us to create a one of a kind basket using simple weaving techniques with natural materials in a variety of colors and texture. PLEASE NOTE! Classes that have specific dates and time frames with an overall class registration fee need to be paid in advance in order to guarantee a space since spaces are limited.
