It was determined by clinical and classroom instructors that the success of the SLO was dependent upon the student's attitude about the process. During spring semester, there was a number of students who stated they could work the problems, it was just the way the problems were worded and that they did not need peer coaching. The clinical instructors noted that these same students were the ones least likely to be able to calculate medication problems on the floor independently. When the students approached peer coaching in a positive mode, it was deemed successful by the students. Therefore, the peer coaching program on math will continue. The faculty will encourage students who have been successful through the program to share that information with other students.
