+ Softphone Features Contacts Management History The History tab that lists the recent calls ordered based on the call date (sorted based on incoming, outgoing, missed or all). Each item in the list contains the call date, time, duration, the customer/contact name if available or the number. A click on any item in the list will start a call (dial the contact). To display details about the call, click on the + sign (then it turns into a sign)to the right of each item, a popup window will be displayed which contains full information about the call and capabilities to listen to the call, send the record to the desktop, and start a call. Contacts A one-column tab containing the list of contacts sorted by the contact last name and first name, each item in the list contains the contact name (last, first) and his/her company name. A list of English language alphabets is displayed to the write of the list to easily navigate to the appropriate contact name. Internal Staff A two column tab that lists the internal extensions (phone numbers) ordered by the name initials (First Letter from the first name followed by the First Letter from the last name). Each item in the list contains the name initials and the extension number. Also each item is coloured according to its status (Red: busy, Green: online and idle, and Gray: offline). It also contains a left and right scroll bars along with number of pages at the bottom to indicate which page is active. This list is updated automatically whenever a call is made through the user station. The following figure suggests the user interface of this tab. 4
Softphone Features Call Management The Call Manager section handle all calls related functions such as starting single and group calls, answering and transferring incoming calls etc. The section s user interface is divided into two main panels, the top panel lists both the active and on hold calls in two separate columns while the bottom panel contains the number 0 9 keys to dial numbers. The following figure summarizes this user interface. The features and functions available through this section are: 1. The key used to start calls for a specified phone number or extension. it is also used to pick a contact from the contacts if his/her number is the same as the typed one. 2. Listing of active, incoming, and on hold calls. This list will be fetched from the Asterisk server based on its API. The incoming call will be displayed at the top of the list, once activated (picked-up) the system must mark this call either with an envelope or with the initials of the barged contacts, it also displays the extension number the call is assigned to. 3. The user can mark an active call as ON-HOLD, once he/she makes such an action the call will be moved to the on hold column. 4. The user can transfer an active call to another extension, and once such an action the call will disappear from the active calls list.
