The course progresses from a simple first configuration onto VoIP and PSTN integration along with the provision of PBX features. The concept of unified communication is explained with how to implement and configure. This track is designed to provide the skills and knowledge in: Hierarchy of the telecommunication network, signaling techniques used between digital switches and Circuit switching and packet switching concepts. Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems and their technologies, general private switching system configuration and the networking of several PBX s. Different voice processing methods like Interactive Voice Response, Voice mail, Automated Attendant and Automatic Call Distribution IP Network fundamentals including IP protocols, configuration of switches and routers, planning and design for Local Area Networks. Different strategies for Voice over IP (VoIP)/IP telephony, H.323 standard, components of an H.323 system, Multipoint conferencing and multimedia conferencing under H.323, overview of ITU videoconferencing standards, MGCP concept with its network entities including the residential gateway and trunking gateway, Megaco/H.248 protocols and overview of the session initiation protocol. Efficient Network Design and Implementation of IP enabled and IP PBX Systems, IP PBX Endpoints and Unified System Management Tools. Asterisk PBX installation and configuration simple onto VoIP and PSTN integration along with the provision of PBX features. Performing post-installation tasks, configuring Cisco Unified Communications Manager and switches, implementing Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) gateways, and building dial plans to place on-net and off-net phone calls, also implementing media resources, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), voice mail integration, and numerous user telephone Features.
