Core modules L&D Consultancy 3 days This workshop gives consultants the robust consultative methodology required to deal with challenging and assertive management stakeholders who can themselves be under intense operational pressure. The skills and knowledge gained will help to ensure that the learning solutions agreed with stakeholders are aligned with L&D best-practice and genuinely meet the needs of the organisation. Learning Transfer 3 days This workshop is designed for L&D and OD Managers, L&D Consultants and HR Practitioners who are responsible for the implementation of strategic and bespoke learning interventions across the organisation. The key issue is the absence of a coherent Learning Transfer System. Improving this situation offers all Heads of L&D and their teams perhaps the single greatest opportunity to spearhead improved business performance, whilst also enhancing their own credibility and status across the organisation. Theoretical Basis of Learning Online self-study This self-study online course explores the theoretical basis of learning. The course is divided into four modules: Adult Learning Theories; Learning Styles and other Preferences; The Brain and Learning and Informal Learning and Social Media. The learning methods include completing online modules, researching internet links (webquests), reading case studies, completing questionnaires for self-awareness, listening to podcasts, participating in discussion forums and completing mastery quizzes. The online course will take approximately seven hours to complete and delegates are also required to submit a reflective summary of how the learning will be applied to their L&D role. Page 3
Elective modules choose two Blended Learning 2 days plus online or 5 weeks online This is either a blended programme including a 2-day classroom course with online pre-course work, or a five week online course without a classroom component. This course explores a variety of methods and media such as mobile technology, e-learning, podcasts, virtual classroom sessions, wikis, blogs etc. You will apply these technologies to a learning intervention from your own environment to make it more effective and efficient. Facilitation Skills 3 days This course will provide delegates with the skills required to facilitate an event such as a focus group, a workshop, an action learning set, a team meeting, a briefing, a business improvement meeting, a focus group etc. Delegates will learn how to open and close an event including subtle language patterns which will help to build rapport with their group and to influence a positive outcome. Learners will also explore resistance to change and a range of challenging behaviours and the course will focus on strategies to manage these behaviours within the group or on a one-to-one basis Effective Presentation 2 days This course provides a structured approach to designing and delivering a presentation and focuses on building confidence through preparation and planning. The power and opportunity we are given every time we present to a group of people is enormous. Whether we are required to brief a team meeting, present at a company conference or deliver a presentation to a client, we need strategies to conquer our fear and overcome our nerves to make sure we get the right message across to our audience. Training Design & Development 3 days This course offers a structure for a consistent approach to the design of effective learning events. It builds upon the work undertaken during the training needs analysis phase. The course includes steps to ensure the design addresses the real needs of the business and the people working within it. The process will ensure training is designed for delivery to the best-practice TAP delivery methodology, and delegates will also plan training materials and resources to ensure consistent delivery of an event within an organisation. Delegates will learn the importance of quality audit and evaluation. Training Needs Analysis 2 days This course offers a structured approach to identifying training needs so that designing appropriate courses is focussed; ensuring value for money and effective use of time. Delegates will learn a process which begins with the clarification of a training request and ends with estimating costs and the creation of a training needs analysis report. The course considers what key questions to ask the sponsor, which information gathering techniques are most appropriate, how to analyse and structure the content of the learning and which combination of delivery methods are best suited to bridge the identified performance gap within budget. Visual Impact 2 days This workshop will help L&D professionals communicate a powerful visual message in training courses, presentations, webinars and e-learning modules. It ensures that slide presentations are effective and stimulating regardless of subject matter or any IT presentation tools that are available. Page 5
