Interventin (IST) Descriptin The Special Educatin Jint Agreement Interventin (IST) seeks t prvide supprt and cnsultatin t the Districts f Residence in an effrt t allw students t remain, where pssible, educated in district prgrams. The IST seeks t prvide early, effective, tiered assistance fr children exhibiting difficulty in their hme schl envirnment. The IST wrks cllabratively with district staff by prviding prfessinal develpment pprtunities, assisting with the develpment f strategies and interventins, and prviding supprts t enable district staff t implement relevant and apprpriate interventins fr students within their respective schls. Request fr Student Specific Cllabratin Requests are initiated by the district special educatin directr/crdinatr r building principal. Request fr student cllabratin shuld include the fllwing cmpnents: - ECHO Prgram/Service - - - Interventin Student Cllabratin Request frm Student Referral Infrmatin sheet Any additinal pertinent schl and/r medical recrds The cmpleted packet shuld be frwarded t the Assistant Directr. As sn as the request is reviewed, it is assigned t an IST cnsultant. The cnsultant initiates the cllabratin prcess by calling the identified primary cntact persn. Request fr Staff Develpment The district special educatin directr/crdinatr, building principal, r central ffice administratr initiates requests. The fllwing Request fr Staff In-service/wrkshp shuld include the fllwing cmpnents: - ECHO Prgram/Service - Interventin Strategies Staff Develpment frm The cmpleted packet shuld be frwarded t the Assistant Directr. As sn as the request is reviewed, it is assigned t the apprpriate persnnel. The cnsultant calls the identified primary cntact persn t discuss the request and t determine if IST can prvide the staff develpment requested. An IST Staff Develpment Cnfirmatin Frm is sent t the primary cntact persn fr all in-services scheduled. 2
