CSA members agree to support their farmer by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, hail, crop failure, etc.) and the rewards (fresh, local vegetables, the bounty of a good season). CSA farmers carefully plan for contingencies by using growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize the risks, and optimize the rewards. On the whole, members will get a wide variety of freshly picked from the farm fruits and vegetables. I understand this principle and agree that there is no guarantee on the exact amount or type of produce I will receive in my share. By participating in the CSA, I am supporting the local farmer and local economy as well as more equitable food distribution, and I am helping to create a more environmentally and economically healthy society. By becoming a member, I commit to picking up my share at the designated time and place and I understand that if I, or someone I designate, is unable to pick up my share, the produce cannot be saved or picked-up at a later time. All produce that is not picked-up at the designated time will be donated. You are welcome to split a share with someone. However, share-splitting is the responsibility of the member; we do not manage the splitting of shares. This includes payment: you are responsible for all payments. Do not divide the cost and pay half and have your share-splitter pay half. You pay us for your full amount and have your sharesplitter reimburse you for their half. Members can work out arrangements to share with their friends and neighbors, when they have to leave town during the growing season. By signing this agreement I commit to pay on time and understand that my membership is not complete until my first payment is received and if I am late paying my second, third or fourth payments (if you choose this payment method) that I forfeit all shares until that payment is made and I will not be reimbursed for any forfeited shares. Refunds are not given for any reason. We are always available to answer all of your questions by phone or through email to ensure that you are comfortable with your decision to become a CSA member. CSA Share Sizes and Descriptions 2015 Fall Season (October 5 November 24) Full Share This share includes a bushel of produce every week and is the best value. Keep in mind that a bushel for a full share is about twice as big as most of our competitors offer. A bushel box measures 15 3 /8 x 11 3 /8 x 13 ½. $265 for Toone and Jackson Pick up $300 for Memphis Pick up Half Share This share includes a ½ bushel of produce every week. This half size share is also about twice as big as most of our competitors. A ½ bushel box measures 15 1 /2 x 11 1 /2 x 6 3 /8. $175 for Toone and Jackson Pick up $220 for Memphis Pick up Jr. Share This share includes a ½ bushel of produce every other week. This is the same size share as the Half Share but you receive one every other week instead of every week. $100 for Toone and Jackson Pick up $120 for Memphis Pick up *The amount of food included in all sized shares will vary from week to week. Some weeks your box will be overflowing and some weeks it may not be completely full. Factors such as crop availability, size and weight of the produce and dollar value of the produce included affect what is in your share.
Payment Options A.) Pay in full. -You pay the full amount up front with cash, check or credit card. There are no additional fees. Example: Local Full Share is $265. One payment of $265 is due when you sign up. B.) Pay with two payments. -5% is added to your first payment and is due when you sign up. The second payment is due on or before October 26. Example 1: Local Full Share is $265. The first payment of $145. 75 ($132. 50 + 5% = $145. 75 ) would be due when you sign up and the second payment of $132. 50 would be due on or before October 26. Example 2: Memphis Half Share is $220. The first payment of $121 ($110 + 5% = $121) would be due when you sign up and the second payment of $110 would be due on or before October 26.

CSA Frequently Asked Questions What is a CSA? CSA (Community Supported Agriculture program) creates a direct relationship, a partnership, between you and our farm, and between the consumption and production of food. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement, where in exchange for your commitment to buy a share in our farm's harvest, we commit to grow exceptionally high quality fruits and vegetables and provide a bountiful portion of it to you during the peak of the growing season. When you become a member of our CSA program you will receive a weekly share of fresh in-season produce. Your membership helps us pay for seeds, water, equipment maintenance, labor, and supplies. Becoming a CSA member fosters responsible relationships between the food you eat, the land on which it is grown and those who grow it. What types of produce do you grow for the fall? Do I get to choose? Your share will be full of fresh seasonal produce grown at Falcon Ridge by the Gilmer family. Each share will vary in size and variety. Some weeks your box may not be completely full and other weeks it may be overflowing depending on what is ready to harvest that week. How fresh is the produce? Your produce will be picked at its peak of ripeness, packaged and delivered to your pick up location within hours! It doesn t get much fresher than that. Typically the produce you buy in grocery stores is picked before it is ripe, is 7-14 days old and has traveled hundreds and sometimes even thousands of miles. How much are shares? Does Falcon Ridge Farm provide the container for our share? Yes! You will receive your share in a cardboard box. We encourage you to take care of your box and return it to be used again.
