Getting Ready for Web Ticket Training Thank you for your interest in the Web Ticket Entry Program. This program is designed to give you control of your locate request. Web Ticket Entry makes it easy to maintain you locate request and gives you access to your tickets for 60 days online. You will be able to do your remarks before your ticket expires. However you will still have some contact with the call center when you need special notice tickets such as an Emergency, In Progress, 2 nd Notices and Canceling tickets. Please follow the instructions below and if there are any questions please do not hesitate to call. The training will take approximately an hour, dependant on questions or dropped connections and on how comfortable with the computer and the system you are. The time is usually scheduled Monday Friday 9am 3pm ET. Please do not be discouraged by the time. You are gaining information in one setting, when training on our system for the call center takes two weeks. Thank you, Kentucky 811
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES TO PREPARE YOUR COMPUTER FOR WEB TICKET: You must have Administrative rights on your computer to download items to your computer. If you do not have Admin rights, you will need someone in your IT department to install the download for you. If you have a toolbar you will need to remove it. Toolbars will cause the pages to freeze and will prevent the map from loading. If you have a Popup Blocker it will need to be turned off and set your computer to accept all Cookies. The Active X Controls must be enabled. You will not be able to use CHROME, AOL, NETSCAPE, MOZILLA FIREFOX, SAFARI or OPERA web browsers without having to minimize and pull up a separate page for Internet Explorer. If you are running Windows 7 operating system, it needs to be the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer. If you have the 64 bit version, you will need to do the following: - Go to all programs there will be the following entries for Internet Explorer. (on Win 7 64) Internet Explorer (64 bit) Internet Explorer You need to use the 2 nd shortcut. Be sure to add the site to your trusted sites in IE. - Due to increased security restrictions in Internet Explorer,.Net controls such as the IrthGIS Map Control are not allowed to load inside the browser by default. To allow the control to load, the web site must be configured to be a "Trusted" site. Doing so will tell IE that you trust the content from this site but will not affect security settings for other web sites you may visit. Depending on your company's policies, you may need to contact a network administrator to perform the steps needed. The following steps may vary slightly depending on the version of Internet Explorer you have.
1. Click on the Tools tab in your Web Browser: 2. Select Internet Options.
3. Go to the Security tab and click on Sites 4. Enter the http://irth.kentucky811.org into the field below Add this website to the zone: and take the checkmark out of the box next to Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
5. Click on Add 6. You may need to Refresh your screen or close and reopen the browser. 7. Now try to download the Map Controls.
Click on Always trust content from AGT International, Inc. and then click on Yes. The mapping software will download. Depending on the type of internet connection you have, this could take awhile to download (e.g. up to half hour). After the software has downloaded you can test it by returning to the login page and clicking on the Irth Map Display link. If the download has installed correctly you will see the following: Note: If you are having trouble downloading the map into your system you may not have Administrative Rights to download or your security settings might be too high.
