1 Implementation 1. Purpose Provide instructions for installing the VMware View Client a non-wellmont device. These instructions are for a Windows based OS. 2. Scope This process applies for users of the Wellmont Horizon View Virtual Desktop. 3. Prerequisites 1. Based on this information, determines what pool the user will use. a. Wellmont User b. Wellmont Physician c. Non Wellmont Physician d. Vendor 2. Browser Recommendations a. IE 10 higher b. Google Chrome c. If IE 9 or lower is installed Chrome will have to be used to launch workspace. 3. Operating Systems a. Windows 7 or higher 4. Responsibilities Technical Services, specifically Systems and Workspace Services, provides documentation regarding access to Wellmont s view environment. 5. Procedure 1. From your PC or Laptop open IE and enter the following URL mware_horizon_clients/3_0#win64 ** Note: To verify you Operating System go to Start/Run and type in msinfo32.exe Under System Summary look for System Type. X64 is a 64 bit OS and X32 is 32 bit OS. 2. Click on Go to Downloads under VMware Horizon Client for 64-bit Windows. (Use 32-bit for 32-bit systems.) 1

2 Implementation 3. Click on Download to download the VMware Horizon Client for 64-bit Windows. 4. Click RUN when prompted to run or save the download. 5. VMware Horizon View Client Setup - click Next. 6. End user License Agreement. Check I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next. 2

3 Implementation 7. Advanced settings Select IPv4 click Next 8. Custom Setup Click Next. 9. Default Server Leave this field blank. 3

4 Implementation 10. Enhanced Single Sign On Click Next. 11. Configure Shortcuts Click Next. 12. Ready to install VMware Horizon View Client Click Install. 13. Click Finish at Completed the VMWare Horizon View Client Setup Wizard. 14. Reboot YES 4

5 Implementation 15. Open Internet Explorer or Chrome and enter the following url Login using Active Directory credentials. 18. Skip this tour or Start tour 19. A list of desktop pools or applications will appear. Please single click the appropriate tool to use. 5

6 Implementation 20. Open Desktop Please make sure View (default) is selected and click on Open Horizon Client. 20. If using Chrome the following message may appear. If so, please add a checkmark in the box Remember my choice for all links of this type then select Launch Application. 21. To exit or close VDI desktop please select Start/Log off. At the Workspace screen with the screen that displays the pools and applications click the little down arrow beside your name click Sign Out. 6. References None 7.
